What are you paying for auction wins @ GoDaddy?

I won an auction @ GoDaddy today.

I log into my account to pay for it and the renewal fee was $14.99! I am a member of their discount club and the renewal fee has always been $8.xx. I have bought probably close to 200 names through GD auctions and the fee has always been $8 something.

I started a chat with GD and the rep says, "The discount domain club pricing does not discount domains that are on auction." What? Like I said, I have always been charged $8 something.

What are you being charged? I'm talking about the 1 year renewal fee on GD expired auctions.

You should be able to make use of one of the x% off your order coupons for auction buys but then again GD are being stingy on the coupon front as of late. Worth a try to save a few bucks though, some of these ones are multiple use.

I just bought an auction domain today, and it was $8.47.

I think that your tech support person was incorrect, and you should call again.

Or ask Joe Styler on this forum.

I did tell the support guy that I thought he was incorrect. That I have always paid $8.xx. He checked my account, came back and said, I would have to pay the $14.99 but he would then refund me the difference. I told him never mind and ended the chat.

I guess that would have been alright but my point is that I have always paid $8.xx. Why am I having to jump through hoops now. And is it always going to be $14.99 now? What has changed?

@Joe Styler ...care to comment? DDC members should be charged what for GD auctions? Why have I always been charged $8.47 and today $14.99?

You could try telling them about the issue via twitter (sometimes works better than a support ticket), if the chat guy is willing to refund you there's evidently an issue.

Please make sure your Discount Domain club did not expired?? Because it is only $8.47 for 1 Year renewal for winning auction. Just won one of auction couple of days ago.

Thanks

I paid DDC prices in the last week. I haven't bought there since then.

Probably a good idea, Electric, but I don't do twitter. :)

Thanks for the suggestion, TeraDomain but yep, I had renewed it last August.

You should be getting the renewal at the DDC discounted price on an expired auction. If you ping me on here I am more likely to see it than twitter, I don't handle the twitter feed so there is a delay before it would get to me. I would like to see what is happening so if you can dm me with the domain name or some other account info like the account number I can figure it out. I haven't heard of any issues with anyone else yet today so let's hope it is just a fluke but either way I will help you get to the bottom of it.

Thank you for the response, Joe.

PM sent.

Just to let everyone know, Joe Styler responded and it appears to have been some kind of fluke. The correct DDC price for renewal fees ($8.47) is now showing.
