GoDaddy Discount Club - Worth it or not?

I've just received another call from GoDaddy trying to sell me on their Domain Discount Club at $90 a year. The renewal rates are certainly lower, but I'm averaging out about the same rate by using some of the promo codes in the Namepros thread.

Anybody else here signed up for this GD club, and if so, do you find it saves money / is useful etc?

I purchased GDDC when I was a very green domainer and honestly it's not really worth the price as coupons and promos are far cheaper honestly.

Generally the DDC is good if you don't want to go thru all the hassle of looking for and applying coupons to every purchase. It gives you the lowest prices GoDaddy offers most of the time, including the pricing of almost all coupons. Of course it can't compete with the $1 coupons, but you can still use those coupons on checkout. For me it was a mathematical formula of how much I would save over a year compared to the cost of the DDC membership. It wasn't even close. I've been a member for about 4+ years. I like it. You get .com renewals for $7.87 which you cannot always get a coupon for, in my experience.

Whenever GD calls me about expiring domains in my account, the rep sees how much business I do there and says, "Why aren't you in the Domain Discount Club?" I tell them I use coupon codes, and they get very quiet and just say "Oh."

I would probably use this service if there was not coupons bring the price just as low...I e-mailed them saying they should just discount the backorder service, a few months later I noticed the "investor's edge" service which offers a nice list of expiring domains and discounted backorders. now they will probably do away with coupons, lol
