Hi all,

I'm not a native English speaker. I sent an email to potential buyer (country extension owner) regarding the availability of .com of exactly same name. Then he simply asked me "how much?". I said "$XXXX". Then he said "we could move fast at $XXX". That's all he said, short and sweet.

So what i want to know is what did he really meant by "We could move fast at $XXX" ????

Does it mean he is willing to buy it for $XXX amount or does it mean he can move to another name for $XXX or change his entire business by spending $XXX amount?

I still didn't reply him and i don't want to ask him what he meant therefore i really appreciate your response.

Thanks.

It means he's willing to pay $XXX, rather than $XXXX.

I think he means he is willing to buy in the hundreds

he means he'll pay to buy it quickly for $xxx, instead of negotiating a higher price.

You now have to chosen to either lower your price or stick to the original price.

It means he definitely wants what you're selling, but he's trying to get you to go down in price.

"power of no"

He used the "moving fast" as in "doing the deal fast benefit," as his negotiating position.
Tell him that you expect for all your transactions to move fast, within a specified time range.

Ultimately, all depends on how badly you need the money, but I'd answer him "$x,xxx" valid for say three days.
Now, you're using his "language" and not weakening your negotiating position.

Thanks everyone for your valuable inputs. Instead of agree on his offer I reduced my price by 30% and told him that it's my last price. Since then I didn't hear from him.
