Watch yourself when going out at late night..

Coming home on the bus from the beach with my friend Raymond, we were approached by two african american males. They asked where we where headed and where we lived.

Upon answering the questions, both men apprehended my friend Raymond and started digging in his left pocket.

I was in awe as this was occurring and immediately got off the bus.

My friend however was still being mugged and I ran after the bus on the phone talking to 911.

Upon the next stop, I saw the two men running away. I immediately went to my friend and asked if he was alright.

All I can see was his watched was pulled off his wrist and his fingers we're bleeding.

There were a few other witnesses who also got off at that stop but immediately fled.

Cops came in less than 5 minutes, and my friend had a police report filed.

We waited for his parents to pick him up and I got a "courtesy ride" home in the back of a police car.

Something the cops told us is that NEVER to go out at late night without good supervision.

The police are right, don't go out late at night with out good supervision, But the problem in todays society is....What is considered good supervision, That's why i like my states laws, With a license that requires a course and exam, You can carry a concealed firearm, Why some people might disagree with this being a good thing, It is like american express to me ... " don't leave home with out it"

Iโ€™m surprised the bus driver acted oblivious to this; he/she could have easily dispatched for assistance.

I'm glad that your friend is alright and no-one has been badly injured in this incident.
Hopefully those robbers will be caught and brought to justice.

It seems kind of dumb to try to mug someone in the open after you have gotten off a school bus. Usually because people are there. :|

You left your buddy while he was being mugged? :-/

:notme:

Sorry to hear about what happened, but I'm curious as to why you would leave your buddy while he's being mugged... D-:

#1 (VERY IMPORTANT) - Check to whom you are speaking, before opening one's mouth, IMHO. The OP is a 15-year-old kid, incase you didn't notice..lol
#2 - I agree to some extent. I never leave home without mine. But, an armed society is a dangerous thing. A large portion of people, despite the training to carry, panic in such situations and are not sure when such force (or show of it) is neccessary and when it is beyond the bounds of what is called for. A paniced victim, or an idiot bystander, is more dangerous than the criminals sometimes.

No excuse that they didn't atleast do that, true. Sadly, however, the bus driver is like a vast majority of folks - too scared to get involved. This is how thugs like this get away with it in the first place, and how they get so brazen, seeing others commonly look the "other way".

Once again, we are talking about a scared 15-year-old (not picking on the OP - Sonny Van). And, as mentioned, many much older than him would have done even less than he did (as he stated, many - probably adults amongst them - fled). Giv him credit for being the one too hang around and atleast call 911! :tu: :tu: :tu:

:) Agree with both parts of this statement. Glad all is OK in the end. And, when they are finally caught, maybe they will also be stupid enough to try running from some cops who are in a mood to later have to say under oath, "I swear, Your Honor, those bruises came from them resisting arrest." ;)

I'm sorry to hear what happened, Sonny. Thankfully you both are alright.

You would have to check with your local authorities, but it may not be a bad idea to start carrying pepper spray with you incase it ever happens again. It is legal in all 50 states, but some jurisdictions don't allow you to carry it.

The bus driver was oblivious? Last time some kid was being chased in belfast at around 10pm the bus driver ran the guy over.

You need a posse man. :P

Here in New York on the "G" scene you can supposedly never go anywhere by yourself.

Where?

Where did this crime happen? Mission District? Bay View Hunters Point?

A few nights ago I came up out of the 12th Street BART in downtown Oaktown 357, I mean Oakland. Long story short, Mr. Baggy-Pants-Cops-episode-America's Most Wanted-poster boy walked up alongside me and said: "Yo man. Can I borrow your cell phone?" I said I don't have one as I kept on walking and scanned the area for a piece of something that could be turned into a weapon. He continued walking and asked me for "fitty cent."
I said I don't have it. As soon as the final consonant rolled off my tongue he sped up. My heart started beating through my teeth as I went into fight or flight mode. As I quickly stepped one foot onto the curb low and behold an OPD black and white came screeching around the corner right towards me. Puff Daddy did a 180 and bolted away like a little girl running from a dog.

LOL. The cop car kept going. It was on another call. I was lucky.

I shouldn't have been there that late at night but I had briefly stopped at the station so I could help two out of town stranded women get on the right train at the 12th street transfer point. I should have gotten back on the train and headed home instead of exiting the station to get a slice of pizza from the PizzaMan establishment right above it all.

It is when you least expect it and your guard is down that the predator will strike. The innocent person doesn't stand a chance against a criminal who knows that the law is on his side.

These rotten scum suckers have no conscience either. The prey on innocent people with impunity in between their trips to and from the courthouse. To Arms!

Aye man, if I had physical advantage, I would beat the shit out of him but I'm just a 5'6 120 pound dude. I can't take two guys like 6 foot ~200 pounds...

What pisses me off the most is all the people in the back didn't do anything.
They just got off with me. I even heard one of them say "Holy sh**, that's f***ing crazy...
