Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

Yep, great sale. Another member reported it a couple pages back. Keep up...

This once again proves that VR names with dashes are valuable. Cool sale, grats to the seller :)

Nobody here should have ever stated that hyphens made them worthless.
And I don't think they did.
They become more acceptable when the keyword demand is strong and more-so outside of U.S. markets.
I certainly would not want to play hyphens with multiple keywords +vr or with new TLD's except in some very unusual circumstances..

StarBreeze and SmileGate form a partnership for their consumer platform.
I have to tell ya, StarBreeze has their act together much better than Oculus.
But I think FaceBook has something more up their sleeve when the Touch Controller is released.

i find it hard to believe you think its a great domain and want to pass because of renewals .. sound a bit strange.

JuryVR - couldn't believe it was available. I grabbed that. Noticed the Virtual Jury com was developed so I will take a chance here.

I completely agree! dashes in .com for best keywords may have some future in years ahead... but dashed VR domains .net ... maybe maybe for 5 best keywords.. games definitely was one of them..

I too think big of retirement and VR.. would make good mix! I own:

VRetirement.com
VRetire.com

and yes.. VR addictions may well be common place! :)

maniacVR.com
virtualRealityMania.com

:)

Maybe maybe my double-dashed, but best-keyworded adult dotcom names has their time to come despite they have already been buried :)

The moment one of those sells for 3k, I'm changing the minimum on my 'non-hyphen version' of one of those to 7 figures. But, you never know. The keyword demand is there. They can actually SEO well.

..............
I used to post names that were available for hand reg that I thought had value.
They 'all' got deleted and I was told to quit selling names here. So I don't post them anymore.

JMHO, but if I'm still sitting on a nice hyphenate name like 3D-Cameras, and not getting consistently nibbled, then I think that double-hyphenate names really have very little chance... (Absolutely not trying to rain on anyone's parade here, but just put a "-" into namebio.com - You'll get all the hyphenate sales - Check out how many are double-hyphenate... Virtually zero... It's a very, very, very long-shot whether for VR or any other category of domain ....)

3 years ago, the market for great keywords were slim with VR.
I did buy some single hyphens then for those keywords.
Just...
vr-cinema.... but have 3dvirtualcinema and some others
holodeck-vr... but have vrholodecks
3d-smartglasses... have a whole bunch of non-hyphen names with goggle and glasses like vrgoggle.

The idea for some of them was to tell me when the market was ready with the hyphen, it would be about time to sell the versions without the hyphen. Just a canary in the coal mine.

How Hollywood Has Predicted VR in Movies

movies-hollywood-vr-virtual-reality-1140x645.jpg

From zero gravity chambers to organic gaming consoles, Hollywood has been dreaming up some of the biggest and best ways to implement virtual reality for decades. They’ve envisioned it as the latest method of psychoanalysis, human enhancement, law enforcement training and so much more. Traditionally based off of technological developments happening in the real world, some of the first movies with VR technology started coming out in the early 80’s when advancements in computer technology allowed research to begin on more affordable VR. With the 90’s came a large influx of VR movies on the coattails of the tech appearing in arcades across the globe. Since the Oculus Kickstarter in 2012, VR has seen a revival on the big screen as it becomes a more affordable and accessible consumer device.

Looking at the direction technology is going today, we decided to look at how some of the most well known and then some not so well known VR and AR movies have portrayed the technology in their own unique way.

@VRdommy I agree that a top-kw, single-hyphen, dot-com may have value... (I'm holding names like VR-casino / Holo-games / 3D-cameras, etc. in my own portfolio) But where I get worried is when I see folks regging mulitiple-hyphen, or hyphen non-dot-com... These types of names historically have very little chance of eventual sale... Again, JMHO...

Fully agree with a but....
I know you and I have been around to hear the old adage... "but it is going to be different this time"...
MANY TIMES !

And while we know that is hardly ever the case, it very well could be just a bit different this time and is why I have not pushed the point very much.

It is the sheer volume of names that will be needed as this displaces existing tech over the next 8 years.
And the type of names will change as this rapidly evolves.

So I do have a much harder time saying with certainty outside of the next 3 years.
But the problem with that is for those that have just to many of them that have to be held to long for just some of them to fruit and for lower values.

yep.. quality dashed vr-keyword.com domains were up for reg at regfee still abotu 1.5 year ago! same goes for regular vr+kw and kw+Vr doamins... then supply went down in 2015 as VR was gaining momentum!

I own 18 vr-keyword.com domains. I do not plan to have more.

as was pointed out here, I'd definitley recommend avoiding double dashes.

here is my showcase vr-keyword..

If I was a new person looking at this thread I would advise them this: Do not waste your money reg dash VR domains. One sale does not mean an influx of sales.

Like others have said here most of the dash VR names, the real quality ones are long gone. Save your cash. IMO

I do not agree.
I sold a few domains with hyphens. I have for renewals for next 5 years.
I have in offer about 60 vr-top keywords coms (hotels, property, drones, healthcare, paris etc.)

Do not forget about the European market...but not only.

thats some great keytwords there.. those are good to have.
I think Hugo meant for newcomers... there is virtually nothing left to reg in VR+kw kw+VR.. NOW.. and same for dash VR-keyword domains..

still.. on some 2$ reg promos etc.. it can be fun to look around for gems too right now! one year is a logn time.. to get $2 back. ;) or to get $100 back if you reg 50 domains on a promo hehe.. just make sure u know what a decent reg is, with some potential.. and your all set.

Those are the exception to the rule. As you stated, vr-top keyword coms. Solid keywords, proper hyphen placement, short names, and dot com. Not multi-hyphen, or worse, gibberish letters with a randomly placed hyphen, like was being repeatedly posted earlier.
