Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I'm the owner of VirtualRealityReady dot com.

Funny story about VR-Ready! That's how I ended up with HapticP**n.com - the .net, .org were taken, but someone let the .com drop. Amazingly no one caught it and was just sitting around waiting to be regged. One of my luckier days :alien2:

Also just saw a wall Street journal article mentioning "Virtual-Reality" with the hyphen too. Pretty interesting to notice.

What do you guys think is the best way to monetize VR traffic ?
I have a name that has backlinks from a major VR company and thus the pure VR traffic stream.
About 100-140 unique visitors everyday.

Need some thoughts on this one;

Renew or drop?
I would research any outside language play first, especially in the EU and China.
But it does not look like a renew. Put it up for a $100 BIN if there is time to be effective.
Sorry, just don't see a future for it.

Is it parked ? Is it TYPE-IN traffic ?
What to do with it is very dependent on what the Type-Ins are expecting when they land if you want to be effective with your work to it. Target them.
Edit: Not much VR advertising at this point to monetize with. maybe next year will be much better.
You will have to use your imagination.

Thanks @VRdommy , it is from a VR app with 500k + downloads.
No type-ins

Imo drop.

Thank you my friend @eladnof
Trust me it is not anywhere near being a super domain. ;)
The best of the names I have do not get traffic anywhere near this.

Actually I feel 100-130 unique visitors is a huge traffic stream if I could utilize it for a VR development project.

The problem is I don't want to go for a content driven site, as everybody seems to be trying their hands at it, and content requires more effort than other ideas such as affiliate sites etc.

There are a bunch of VR affiliate programs for VR Content sites. Create a "review site" section to your site. Google loves review sites. You can find a simple review site script online. Create a review for VR Content. On that section or on all the pages of your site slap some Google Adsense or Yahoo ads. Test both out see which ones pay out more. Also target games and casino affliate programs for big payouts. Make sure you do proper SEO. Good luck!

I like Geo+VR names. They're versatile, and fairly safe.

NewYorkVR could be:

VR tourism app about New York.
VR community hub in New York.
VR Arcade in New York.
VR content producer/solutions provider in New York.
& then you have all the various meanings of "VR", such as Vacation Rentals, Vocational Rehab, Vintage Racing...

That "Vocational Rehab" is perfect in my PhysiotherapyVR and VRPhysiotherapy.com andy VRTHX.com and THXVR.com

Physiotherapy Vocational Rehab.com
THX(therapy) Vocational Rehab.com

physiotherapy=physical therapy

Of course it can so be virtual reality.

This is the reason I bought RestaurantVR. Ofcourse people will want to check out hotels and restaurants in 360 before going out or when planning a vacation.

This is why I got ForLeaseVR.com to help business owners to check out potential locations for their future business because who has time to visit all potential Commercial properties. time is money after all. This service can be offered free complementary by realtors to prospective buyers.

You're going to develop it?

Not in the budget for ForLeaseVR.com. Going to just sell it and move on to the next. It's going to sell for sure. I think rentals can also fall under the umbrella of the keyword "For Lease"

Hey, all!

I've come up with some VR.coms involving some (what I consider to be) market-ably clever wordplay that have not yet been registered. Might they potentially be worth something...?

I guess what I'm asking is:

Is there a thriving market for unused VR domains?

I'm not looking to build a site out of them. So, would it be more likely that I'd just be posting them on here/Flippa/wherever else, crossing my fingers, and hoping for the best?

Are they still worth investing in?

Thank you!

That is the 99 cent question.
Do you think there is a market for my used cars ? ...that is the answer.

It is dependent on what they are. Everything has to be judged on it's own merit.
But there are certain things that make the likelihood of some more than others.
Read back through the 800+ pages of this thread for more info.

Interesting......

I have been in hope of StarVR getting to market before this x-mas season.
This would be a big boost to VR in general as this is a high-end piece of hardware.
If you could couple this with the room tracking of the Vive, hand gesture tracking and possibly eye tracking of the Fove, it would be unbeatable, but very costly.
Hard to top the over 200 degree FOV and twin 2.5k displays. While that sound like the highest res yet, be it known that the pixel density to the eye is no better than the Vive. Just a FOV that makes it very real.

When I could not see where Starbreeze was getting the needed operating capital from, I was not looking as close as the partnerships they were forging. Like this with Acer.
http://www.theverge.com/2016/5/15/11677870/starvr-starbreeze-acer-join-forces.
Everyone seems to be partnering to make the market a bit faster.

I don't see any value there. Be careful!

‘Pinball FX2 VR’ Transports Pinball Wizards to a Nostalgic Virtual World

In the race to be among the first to craft an essential pinball experience for the emerging virtual reality market, Zen Studios has positioned themselves as trailblazers. By their reputation as expert makers of digital pinball tables, we can count on their VR-focused entry to not be of slapdash make, hastily designed to claim leadership in a booming space. Rather, Pinball FX2 VR — a popular launch title for the Oculus Rift — furthers their pedigree with a home pinball experience built around realism, amplifying already-classy pinball tables through the lens of virtual reality.

‘Project Alice’ Tracks Real Objects to Enhance Multi-user VR Experiences

Noitom, a leading mo-cap company, are using their affinity with capturing reality by fusing it with virtual reality to create a multi-user mixed reality experience that allows users to interact in VR and others using real world objects. Noitom calls this combination of systems and modalities Project Alice, and they were at SVVR 2016 to show it off. Road to VR’s Executive Editor Ben Lang went hands on.

Yea I know the monthly keyword searches is crap. But where I'm from you just see this keyword set all over the place in the "real world" so if it's rampant in the real world then it has to be of value in the virtual world.

Think of it like airbnb. It's a real estate (sort) niche but specializes in bnb rentals. I think Realtors would want to list their lease listings on a VR marketplace for just lease property.

They will just add VR to their existing company name or just a tab for virtual tours on the website.

Take it from me, you'll be dropping this one. I cringe at most acquisitions posted here. This is a game of quality, not quantity. Forget registering and think aftermarket. Lots of deals to be had if you do a thorough search.

I was surprised that these were still available, and when I saw that "WebVR" isn't an active trademark I couldn't resist. "WebVR" is steadily becoming the universal term for VR experiences or sites on the web, as well as the name of the "boilerplate" technology that enables them. https://www.google.com/search?q=webvr

WebVRDevelopment

All dot king

I've also regged some other related domains over the last couple of months.

Including:

VRReadySite/s
VRReadyWebSite/s
VRReadyDesign
VRReadyTheme/s

VRWPTheme/s - if WebVR takes off, it's only a matter of time before Wordpress is adapted, IMO.

VRResponsive

Would have loved to have ResponsiveVR, but it's already owned by someone else here on NP: Recons.com, but in some ways I like my version more, because it could mean a site is responsive in a VR environment, rather than the reverse.

I can se someone saying "your site's not 'VR Responsive'" rather than "your site is not Responsive VR"

All dot king

I do recognize that this is a gamble and possibly a waste of money, but taking risks is just part of the game!

JMO you could of gotten 1 or 2 quality VR names from auction sites or drops instead of registering tons of very low quality names that I doubt will ever be worth more than reg fee.
