Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I get a healthy amount of whois look ups on my 360SportsCam and 360SportsCamera dot coms. I think that this niche will explode in the coming year or two as it has already taken off. With the need for content comes the need for tools to make that content.

yeah im getting quite a few interest on my 360

360LiveWebcams.com

360Tank.com

DroneCam360.com

DroneCams360.com

They have a domain.
thevoid.com - and been at it for a couple of years now.
And it was the first thing I thought of when I seen your post.
Most likely someone else thinking that they will want or need it.
But my thinking is to get what you can from those kind of folks because thevoid.com folks are not going to add any more value to it than it has right now.
FLIP IT I SAY ! Flip it like a egg over easy.

6 years ago? Geez! You're waaay ahead of the game! Did you reg any VR names back then as well?

Haha, you're right, I shouldn't boast about regging a couple of good volumetric names six years ago when loads of premium VR names were still up for grabs at the time and I missed them. I regged some of the best Holo, 3D, volumetic names but for some reason I had a blind spot when it came to VR. I regret it but I shouldn't kick myself too hard as I managed to catch up a little and bag some good names despite entering the market late (ShoppingVR and a few others and lots of very good adult + kw names). And I'm confident I'll make a fortune from my Holo names.

vrbarbiegames.com - TM, delete....
vrcamerareviews.com - not bad, but review domains don't have a great record.
vrcameras.net - not bad, I'd hold on to this for a couple of years
vrdigitalcamera.com - the term "digital camera" is obsolete
vrdigitalcameras.com - the term "digital camera" is obsolete
vrgamesdownload.com - ok....but the plural kind of messes it up
vrlovecam.com - not bad, I'd hold on to this for a couple of years
vrlovecams.com - not bad, I'd hold on to this for a couple of years
vrwindowsapps.com - TM, delete....

I'd try to get a refund on the rest...
even the cool math names...because those keywords don't sell much anymore last time I checked......over saturated.

You may not be kicking yourself, but yeah, I feel your pain. I'm kicking myself for not taking domaining as seriously as I do now until the last 2 years....especially when I've been domaining non-seriously since the 90s.

Lesson learned? It's EXPENSIVE not to take things serious....lol. If you don't take domaining seriously it's very possible that you're just wasting your money and missing out on the more profitable keywords....

if domainers act like they have a good idea of where the vr market is going, why not become the end user on some of your domains, build value into it or make a vr a product, people are going to be starving for vr content and cooler ways to use this stuff, theres many areas of web vr yet to be tapped and developed

I'm actually going to try to use my ProVRVideo dot com to offer services like recording weddings and other personal events, before the industry becomes so familiar that everyone and their grand ma has a VR camera lol. It's good to take advantage of things while they're still a small novelty :-D

Finally, a camera that can live-stream virtual reality
but the worlds of live-streaming video and VR have yet to really meet.
That's about to change.

I'm actually going to try to use my ProVRVideo dot com to offer services like recording weddings and other personal events...

Bingo! Folks being able to utilize live-streaming of VR is going to propel virtual attendance of a variety of personal events... From weddings to funerals to reunions... To this end I'm holding:

Wedding VR
Birthday VR
Birth VR
Retirement VR
VR Retirement
VR Anniversary
VR BarMitzvah
VR Birthday
VR Celebration
VR Engagement
VR Proposal
VR Funeral
VR Graduation
Highschool VR

And, of course

VR Streaming ;)

I'm fine with my ProVRVideo :-D! Not sure why people would put on a HMD to look at photos when they could watch video. I could be wrong and we'll see, but I just don't think that still photos are a good use of "Immersive" technology...

Now, @Onekey, you know they're not going to be called VRphotographers for long... Rather, they'll have their own designation and be referred to as:

Virtographers

(Or so I hope in my fevered imagination... A guy can dream, can't he? ;))

Time will tell, but I personally think it will be awesome to look at photographs... or what I call Virtographs... in 360 VR... Think of all the details you miss in the limited view of traditional 2D photography... (And think of all the fun you could have photo-bombing (VRbomb?) a 360 family photo... Each photo might contain a ton of surprises as you look around...) And as far as the demise of photo vs. video, well, I send a heck of a lot more photos than videos even though my iphone let's me do both just as easily... JMHO as always...

My latest buy:-

3Dx5r

2003 domain. *touch wood* virtual shopping becomes a big thing. Can also represent a few other things like video/visual shopping which seem big categories, but yeah have bought it for the potential of virtual shopping first and foremost.

Be prepared for when SecondLife.com make their site VR compatible.....they will over take Facebook before they even release their VR social platform....

You have to convince me that SL *isn't* already working on this.

I'm sure they are working on VR integration, but IMO only the "Big Boys" (Apple/Google/FB/etc.) have the financial resources and IT talent to pull off creating a complex world-wide Metaverse as depicted, for example, in ReadyPlayerOne... I think SL is just too small a fish... (Or, in the alternative, they'll just be acquired... ;))
