Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

Avatar.pro $2800 Sedo 06-26-17

avatar is amazing potential keyword for VR ..

have 2... will most liklely keep both..

VRavatars .net

VirtualRealityAvatar .com (I guess the plural here is more desirable cause its been owned for 11 years now!) :)

I suspect some (including the author of the above article) may mock the utility of "smell" in VR, but I can readily see a myriad of use cases. For example, in an era when ever more people are eating out, or utilizing "food delivery" services like BlueApron, it's only a matter of time before folks will want to "sample the wares" via VR before purchasing food online or visiting a restaurant... (Plus you couple this "smell-o-vision" with a previously mentioned technology that may let you "taste" in VR - This New Tech Brings Virtual Reality to Taste Buds - And then you've really got a total "virtual" dining experience taking shape...) My mouth is already watering over the possibilities! ;)

FoodVR
VRDiet

Smell is an extremely powerful sense. A smell can instantly give you flashbacks to a distant memory. The potential use cases are endless as you point out.

It can be used in any type of retail experience, travel experiences, cinema, games, adult...

MagicVR.com auction ended at $828 DC now
Buyer got a great deal imo
I was one of the bidders, but I was hoping to get it for $59 as a single bidder:xf.smile:
Great domain name, google shows a lot of end users for it.

It's a dropcatch.com, backorder service. The domain was deleted few days ago from the registry.

I feel the name is pretty strong, Magic is used a lot in this sector where tech is all about Surprised elements of Vision.

So I hesitated to go headband on in this auction but had a strong gut feeling to own this - so I am the culprit who bought it. A small entry into Vr for me

Wow! GREAT BUY! don't sell it for cheap. surprised none of the BIG vr companies didn't have one of their interns watching domain market auction sites for great VR domains like this to catch get prices like this. I guess they have other things on their minds. Surprised also none of the big sites like Google or Microsoft or even Amazon for that matter.

Good luck! if I would have known about it. I would have jumped in higher.

so this Dropcatch.com backorder service? is it Good? I've lost plenty of changes to get some VR domains on Drop using my stupid registrar's $18.99 backorder service. I thought it was cheap apart from the rest. but it missed getting........

LeafVR.com and 1vrar.com for me plus a bunch of other non VR domains.

But this MagicVR.com was it backorder or auction? sounds like auction yes?

Good luck with it.

Dropcatch domains once you back order - if there is 1 person backordering you win it and get it transferred in your account. If there is multiple person than it goes into an open auction. So this domain obviously went on for the auction.

I have backordered about 250 domain names through dropcatch.com they are not great but I just like the interface so it's just a matter of a personal taste- you could do the same thing in various other places also

I see I see. I'll have a look. Pretty slick set up Dropcatch has.

So you PAY for a drop catch but if some other DropCatcher member PAID to catch the same domain? it goes to auction?

and what? They get a commission on top of the final sold price?

This is why they beat most Dropcatch services as their member base probably gang up on some awesome domain that's dropping. Dropcatch gets it first because it has "funding" from guys like you I'm guessing?

The Faster your servers are the more Domains you catch.

pretty self explanatory.

I can see why people use them even if in thee end some or most domains go to auction and you are battling tooth and nail for domains you paid to catch at drop hoping no one else did also. lol

I'll give them a look for my next VR domain pickups. See you at the Auctions! lol

To me, VR always seemed a natural for charity/philanthropy, as the more immersive an experience is the more empathy it generates... And the more funds that are raised...

Hence I regged:

VRgive
VRgiving
/ Com ;)

I had these with the same idea. but not as good as Give.

I've always believed that Poverty extreme poverty is something that is "out of sight" out of mind.

I'm Filipino so I know about Poverty first hand. Part of my family still lives in Poverty in the Philippines.

I think all these Rich pencil neck geeks in Silicon Valley with Diamond Spoons in their mouths can afford to go "slumming" in VR and perhaps inspire them to donate.

These millenials and hipsters these days are Bleeding hearts anyways. They will Donate but make sure everyone knows they did on their instagram and twitter and facebook.

Like..."look at me! I'm a good millennial! I'm donating to feed a hungry family in some third world country! I'm social responsible!"

yea yea yap yap yap yap. So shoot me.

People always say VR will show people locations and places and experience something they NEVER did.

Well some people have NEVER experienced EXTREME Poverty.

Yea sure there is .....

EXTREME RACING
EXTREME LUXURY whatever
EXTREME SEX
EXTREME SPORTS

All evoke a FEELING in a HUMAN.

I dare anyone to watch Poverty in VR and NOT feel SAD or CRY and DONATE?

Who would pay for such an experience? Rich people? Middle Class?

Who would buy? Non-Profit.

Many Take For granted what God has blessed them with. Some might want to see such "Content" and appreciate having a Home,Clothes, internet, school,Food,TV, Time to do nothing at all. etc etc.

VRgiving I had in my account from expired domains. You renewed and they took it back. Smart move on your part imo. First time that's happened to me. My miss, but it should be a winner for you going forward. It's definitely worth the renewal cost.

congrats to him if it was his sale.

yes we all know ali skills.
but that applies more when you sell some random 5 month old handreg for 1k.
on flippa auctions, starting at 1$.
that domain came with its own merits, and 15 years of reputation.
it really just pretty mcuh sold itself in this case.

are you sure the stats are such that majority of new acounts do not pay? I always thought majority did pay... thats 50+1% majority.. not 90%... but I'll take your word for it.

sale or not.. still good indication of current value of this domain. did not check , but I am sure next bidders were not all new.

Sorry about that Mate... I'm often a bit lazy about renewals this time of year and frequently go into the grace period on my names... this one must've been a late retrieval on my part... (This said, if I decide to part with it in the future, I'll definitely keep you in mind! ;))

No problem, I don't count deletes as mine until the legal time is up. Have a feeling someone on this board will sell a fine one this year. GL
