Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

Itch.io now has a "WebVR" games tag on their online games site. It only has 3 games now, but there is WebVR a development frenzy right now. It will grow in time to become it's own full blown category of online gaming, just as Flash games did in the early 2000s.

They also have a pretty big selection of online VR games in general, but I'm pretty sure that WebVR will become the dominant form of VR games online after a few years.

vidvr is nice

reminds me of CYBVR..com
I regged few days ago off dropped
possibly one of a handful only of VR domains I own which aren't actual words and does not have meaning per say.. but.. it was short and close play on one of my favorite words (cyber) so I went for it

lucky me I got a sale last nite low 4 figures on a holo keyword domain of all things lol so I can pay some more VR renewals now hahahha
can't disclose sorry.. went to a usa business owner enduser.

those godaddy premium listings we talked bout recently with bin can be real handy... conditional on your bin price not being too high for current VR market.. else its as good as not having it there at all...so I'm gonna have to call someone find out once and for all how to get my non godaddy domains into the premium spot when someone tries to reg domain on godaddy. I know how to get gd domains there (list on premium option from manager)... but I hear mixed reports on whether bin from sedo goes there.. or bin from afternic

sadlyu, most reps are just as confused about this as most domainers.. but sooene will know for sure

Just saw an intriguing Chick-Fil-A commercial promoting VR. They are using the domain CowzVR.com in the campaign.

yeah... I know.. there will always be companies prefering to pay regfee for crap.. even if for (still relatively tiny amounts, compared to future price increases on VR Domains) they could get considerably better things.... from.. well.. us.

cheers

Yeah it's not the best name, obviously, but it was probably their first choice. Chick-fil-a has made a brand from cows misspelling words. Any other company, I would say this is a crap name, but in this case, I think they have exactly what they want.

yep.. there will always be companies like that too... who will get exactly what they want for regfee.. but as we all know, chances of that happening in future will be abotu same as me winning lotto.

cheers

yep.. nice and short

I was just making point vidvr is not same as videovr domain..... not same value.. not smae quality...

no more than gamesVR is same as gamVR
... or superVR not same as supVR ...
and many more examples...

You are absolutely right, I prefer videovr, but I like it as brandable, for example for a headset, it has been a very good acquisition, I am convinced that soon someone will develop a product with this name

Quite a few WebVR names are taken - not sure they will have value if the users just see this as VR.

*labs.com is free.

One of the leading WebVR developers compared the tech to Flash in how it will be used. Not so coincidentally, online games became popular because of Flash. Flash game related domains sold really well in multiple languages, including FlashGames.com for over $200k. I wouldn't be surprised if OnlineGames.com sold for close to 7 figures.

Whoever has WebVRGames dot com, OnlineVRGames dot com and their non-English counterparts could have a nice sale someday..... *cough*.....fingers crossed!

Beyond games, I have some relevant names like for example WebVRTour/s, which I will hold on to since WebVR will be the central technology used in real estate tours online. The point is regging names that are specifically useful to the industry of WebVR.

But yes if a company isn't specifically focused on online VR experiences, they may not see any value in "WebVR" names so reg with serious caution, if you even dare to drift off into even riskier VR territory.

As mattG has suggested, CowzVR.com is actually a TERRIFIC domain for Chik Fil A as they have been using the wordz (lol - couldn't resist...) "Cowz" and "Chikin" in their advertising/branding for years (decades???),

i agree. it is possible cowzVR was thefir first choice domain
and they got it on first try.... which still changes nothing to the fact it isn't a great and valuable VR domain (which is probably why the first time EVER it was regged was by them 12-01-2016)

.......in same way that another company may one day need domain 4341454vr.com and get it on their first try too for regfee.. cause that doamin fits perfectly their need or project.

I was just trying to make the point that any company in future wanting a VR domain of any kind... and then getting that domain on their first try, at regfee, will be a abotu same odds as winning lottery.

this is extremely unlikely to be a false prediction.

cheers

What would you say about a nane like WebMovies.com? Any value?

Same thing if you ask me.

There are a few WebVR names with potential. But they are all taken now.

Just puting "WebVR" infront of any word will not work if you ask me.

The names have to make sense, like WebVRcompany, WebVRexpert and so on.

Just my two cents.

Thanks...with all the movie streaming going, WebMovies.com is a very nice name, but it just depends what happens with WebVR

If WebVR games become big, I see movies doing the same in the future, its my only WebVR names though so really a big risk.
