Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

not to drag into old topics.. but I too commented those words in same way as you that.. if you see no potental for something like VRgym, then its identical to seeing no potential for all of VR period. the essence of all of VR wil be and is beign captured in all its little subniches or areas.. whether you are dating in vr, studying in VR, exercing in VR etc.. it's all the same essence.. the only thing that varies is the details.

cheers.
Yes, sorry - I saw your post after I posted my reply.

I also could mention that running apps for smartphones and fitness trackers that let you race against others in realtime during your daily jog are already very popular, so imagine how much more popular would be a vr app that allowed you to see them virtually as you race against them (or Usain Bolt etc)

agreed.
no need to be sorry. I wasn't trying to say your repeating me or something. I was expressing it is nice to see others like you (though I know most here realize this) to whom the problem is not where or how to begin enumarating possibilities and potential of VR.. but rather where to stop once we get going.

cheers

Just picked up a fruity little hand reg.

FruityVR in King

Brandable, a little bit sexy, a little bit quirky, a little bit fruity if you like that kind of thing ;)

Definitely one of the best I've seen you post. I'm surprised that was available.

Really? that's not good news. you know this for sure Alcy?

Dear Angelica': A VR film that steps inside a painter's brain
At Sundance, Oculus Story Studio is one of several creative teams probing the limits of storytelling in virtual reality.
angelica.jpg

"Dear Angelica" was made using Quill, a program for virtual reality that lets artists paint strokes in the air around them.

Oculus Story Studio
At an early point in "Dear Angelica," you switch from watching an animated movie to living inside it. It feels a little like stepping into a dream, except it isn't one sprung from your own mind, but that of an artist leading you into hers.

The virtual reality experience, which visualizes the memories of a fictional daughter about her departed actress mother through an evolving series of painted memories, premieres Friday at the Sundance Film Festival. It's the latest work by Oculus Story Studio, the in-house creative team at Facebook's virtual-reality headset maker, Oculus.

VRJB.com just sold for $1,200 at Namescon
Great sale report. I wonder if there were a few VR fans at NameCon? I think @FX is there? :xf.smile:

I purchased it for $250 15 months ago sold for $850 2 months ago and good to see it sell again for $1200 within 8weeks. Great to see VRLL/LLVR continuing to increase in value and very happy for the buyer (y)

I got an email inquiry for my VReleven (dotcom).

What do you think should be the correct price?

@zs.vereckei

Was it via email? Sedo? If its a Sedo offer, check the country they are from and then check that cctld?
Have you researched the email address?

What info have you got? Never rush with a reply without trying to find out more about the buyer?

You say fitness trackers and running apps are popular right now (and I agree they are) are domains needed for these trackers and apps though? If so how much are they selling for?

All the potential VR uses you’ve talked about, does Gym+VR cover that? It sounds like you are talking about athletics to me more so than a gym.

Personally I just don’t see it as a necessity domain, It’s not premium/it’s not category killing, not even the strongest variant and it doesn’t say on the tin what you’ve talked about so I’m sure there’s always other options for a buyer if the domain owner is asking for too much.

That all said (and as I said previously) I do think there’s a ROI to be made if a domainer as bought it. I think it could go for $1,200-$2,000 to an end user, but you know, saying a VR domain is worth 4 figures and a potential ROI x4 can be deemed as an insult in this thread sometimes or was last time I gave a valuation when someone asked, so….

Yes it does. The example I gave ('virtually/remotely competing' whilst running) could be applied to any gym activity, even lifting weights. I gave the example of jogging outdoors, but maybe such VR apps will tempt park joggers on to the treadmill if VR convincingly lets them run in surroundings of their choice (and not having to avoid dog turds).

Worst case scenario is you could use gymvr as a site that allows visitors to virtually see inside gyms in 360 before they take out a membership - just as real estate companies are already using VR.

Don't want to be downbeat, but interest in virtual reality does seem to have plateaued since April last year (xmas spike aside), when the Gear VR/S7 came out. I think it is going to be a long road and we will just have to be patient.

I own The/vr/gym and Treadmill/vr dot king.

There are all sorts of possible ways to apply VR to fitness I think. Just imagine something like The Void but focused on endurance/muscle building activities.

There are already treadmills for gaming, why not regular jogging where you can jog through Tokyo or Havanna in 360 video or in a virtual gaming environment that let's you collect points and high scores.

Treadmills are bulky and not alot of people have room for them, so why not enjoy them at the gym instead.
