Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

NameSilo
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I've picked up a few mediocre Dn's and unfortunately a lot more crap ones than I'd like to admit. I'm never going to compete with a trained eye but where would you suggest I look for existing VR domains that are dropping or currently for sale that are borderline?
I currently look for liquidating because I badly need funds, if interested pm me.

You can check for expired/expiring domains here:
http://www.zfbot.com/
https://www.expireddomains.net/

Just make an account and search for whatever keyword you want. Just remember that most good names will have a few backorders which will result in an auction where most $ wins.

Thank you :)

Saves me using Excel/Sort and drop lists. Cheers dude

Although a daily check takes tenacity and discipline to be successful in this game I suppose.

PlayStation VR: The Ominous Silence Of Sony
unnamed_161.jpg

A few months ago, Sony launched the PlayStation VR after several years of work. Early reviews were generally positive, though they carried the caveats common to all VR today — the various experiences have some great moments, but a true killer app has yet to emerge. Since then, Sony has gone quiet about the platform, despite being happy to talk about total PS4 shipments through the holiday season or various other aspects of its gaming sales.

First up, there’s the recent closure of Guerilla Cambridge, a game development studio that created what’s been hailed as one of the PSVR’s best initial titles — the mech battlegame Rigs. The main studio, Guerilla Games in Amsterdam, won’t be affected, but Guerilla Cambridge had been in operation for 19 years — hardly a fly-by-night. Sony has stated that Rigs will be left online, but there won’t be any new DLC or support for the title going forward.

Next, there’s early evidence that the PSVR’s sales figures may not have been to the company’s liking. There was little mention of VR or upcoming VR titles at the PlayStation Experience last month, and Sony’s Kaz Hirai has refused to give concrete figures, saying: “We’ve always said it’s going to be a slow start, unfortunately, we did produce a lot of units but we ran out of stock in some retailers, but I think based on reports coming out of the holiday season, we’re actually happy with the numbers. One of the reasons we’re not talking about the numbers so much is because we don’t want the numbers to take a life of their own.”

Independent tracking firm SuperData Research has revised their estimate of PSVR sales to 750,000, down from 2.6 million, though that initial figure was extremely optimistic, for reasons we’ll explain below.

Thanks! and what about those people who use expired auctions as a means to gauge interest in their domains and then last minute paying $80 just to recover and renew their domains and remove from an auction that's running?

Maybe developers are already two steps ahead of the hardware PSVR are offering.

I remember when several consoles came out and gaming tech was in limbo for a while. You can thank your lucky stars for these early innovators (and supporters), because without their will to gamble on a loss leader we would still be in the dark ages.

I am still a bit new to domaining to speak knowledgeable about this but if VR is set to be one of the next big things then VR domains will be in demand.

I'm guessing that no one here will ever go into outerspace. Imagine doing this in the VR world.
Got 'VRspacetravel(dot)com'

Thanks for the info.

Can I ask where's the best place is to register an interest in a domain that's expiring?

Was going to send you a PM since this is a bit off topic but I am not totally certain how it works so someone with more experience might correct me. DropCatch.com, NameJet.com, SnapNames.com
That's the best from what I understand. I think SnapNames and NameJet are working together somehow. If you really want your name you could place a backorder on all these services at the same time. (There are several threads on NP about dropcatching-services)

I didn't expect this to get too high, but figured it would have done a bit better than it did.

i think a lot people do not even bother bid on these epxired things knowing in most cases owner renews anyway.

I just picked up VRsalez (.) com. Have no idea what to ask for it or if this should be one to hold for a few years.
