Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

"To Be With Hamlet is being created by a group of media professionals who love Shakespeare and who want to push the boundaries of whatโ€™s possible in theatre and virtual reality. Your donations will help the team raise Hamletโ€™s production values even higher, share the experience with audiences outside the New York City area, and potentially fund the creation of more Shakespearean productions in VR, such as Macbeth, A Midsummer Nightโ€™s Dream, and The Tempest. "

Maybe if they get enough funding they will be able to afford the $9,999 Onekey is asking for HamletVR.com

I knew somebody would do it sooner or later.

Sent out a few enquiry's recently, pushing my luck and out curiosity what people are wanting for some of the biggest VR names.

VRGames
VRCasino

Both in .com

All looking for offers in the high 6 figures - 6 figures seems to be the price range anyway for ultra-premium VR's, a lot of these types of names are owned by massive companies and high profile people with money, so unless they get what they want, they aren't going to let them go.

Be interesting to see in the next 2 years or so if one of these types of names sell, if they do, be interesting then to see if the best names could rise and go beyond 6 figures.

Seven and Samsung introduce VR and 360 mobile Olympics coverage

olympic-rings-stock.jpeg

Seven and Samsung have announced the 7Rio VR 2016 app for the Olympics.

The Seven Network and Samsung Electronics have partnered to deliver 100 hours of live and on-demand virtual reality and 360-degree video Olympic games coverage.

For the first time, the virtual reality and 360-degree will be available to selected Samsung Galaxy phones compatible with Samsung Gear VR via the 7Rio VR 2016 app.

The coverage will include opening and closing ceremonies, menโ€™s basketball, gymnastics, track and field, beach volleyball, diving, boxing and fencing as well as highlight packages.

The app enables users to choose between multiple camera angles on live streams of selected sports, and share highlights on social media.

The partnership sees Seven further its attempt to โ€œdeliver the most technologically advanced coverage of any eventโ€ to date.

โ€œThese Olympic Games will be accessible to every Australian and promise to be the largest aggregated audience ever seen across platforms and screens,โ€ says Kurt Burnette, event director, Olympic Games and chief revenue officer, Seven West Media.

โ€œThe games content delivered and curated by Seven will be seen, heard, shared and discussed in many new ways with Seven as the driver,โ€ he says.

As is with any NEW market, the high figure sales do not come till the niche market is well capitalized and plenty of money is changing hands. That is where both the marketability and value come from.

There has to be a advantage to the buyer to obtain that. Hard to get it while the market is not there yet.
I think we are still looking at 3-4 years for those 6f's but there can always be a surprise along the way.

I have a dozen or so names I feel fit that mold and do not advertise or mention them them in any way, but the same upon the asking, I place high dollar figures to them because I really do not want to sell till I see what the market 'could' bring. If they are willing to make the price, I won't wait to find out where their true value lays.

MinecraftVR releases for the Rift Next Week

http://attackofthefanboy.com/news/minecraft-vr-finally-coming-oculus-rift-next-week/

When you can build out a project in MinecraftVR on the Rift or HoloLens and later continue on GearVR or AndroidVR, that will be the fundamental moment for VR. I know Microsoft has been working to keep the formats inter-operable inside of Win10 and could happen across the board, but it is a big challenge.
It's likely this game will be the first 'test case' for that challenge.

I know one of them, i should have bought it when i had the chance, but something else come along so can't be too disappointed.

As said before, I think if you could get the other variant as-well with it, you could have something potentially huge there.

I would like to attend some meetups. I spend most of the year in big European cities such as London and Barcelona so it should be possible. I'd also like to possibly invest in the odd VR startup - seems a more worthwhile way of making money out of VR than just squatting on domains!
The guy running the festival has a shopfront where you can go and "experience" I asked what do you call your venue? "is it an experience shop?" he said "oh yeah that would do" So for him it's a case of dip your toes in the water and see what happens? I told him this time next year he may be open full time.

Category killers will always command a high price and if the entity can't afford it they will go with something else "mobilevrgames" ... "vrcasinoclub" ..... just gotta make sure when they type in the second option it goes to your sales page

HoloLens will have a competitor in the market In Sept.
Intel 'Remote Eyesight' is a Enterprise Collaboration AR device.

I think we will also see Asus put their mark in this space before the year is out.
At the heart of these devices including the hololens is a revised Intel ATOM iot cpu releasing next month.

Asus (will wait i assume for ces 2017 ) will collaborate with Microsoft , like many others .. the idea behind the hololens and the mixed reality platform is genius.

Everyone is collaborating with Microsoft because that is the heart of their inter-operation ability.
They created the Open interface for such things in Win10 that 'everyone' is using.
Asus was also looking to produce the lower cost Consumer Hololens for them. MS is not a manufacturer and needs a price point acceptable to the consumer.
At this point, MS released the 'Dev Edition' Hololens to the consumer ahead of Intel's announcement.
I don't think MS can release as a 'consumer device' until the 'official launch' of the New Atom CPU next month since it is using it.
Either way, the end market is still priced at Enterprise, their target.
There are not going to be waves of consumers buying these devices unless they can beat a $700 price tag.
Those new Atom CPU's will have a cost of nearly half of that for starters. Cheaper when they have a competitor for a like product. Perhaps one of the new mobile CPU/GPU's coming in the spring.

In any case, this may have rendered my isightVR worthless unless it gets misdirected traffic from it.
