Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

Got a mid xxx offer for:

rc7WT

Last night (I think It was from someone on here) and exchanged a couple of e-mails, I’m actually trying to raise money for something at the moment so can’t believe I counted and toyed with the idea of letting it go at this stage for a lot lower than I normally would.

When you send enquiries for names like VRPoker/VRCasino VRGames though, all these current owners are wanting 6 figures, I consider VRExperiences that tier, so if one day one of those sell for that, that’s the kind of price range I see this as when the market matures, here’s hoping anyway

this is certainly a very nice domain buddy. i think its ~10 years. I like it!

...and on the great pyramid of vr domains it most certainly is neither at the bottom nor at the top of it. I will have some fun with my imaginary crystal ball and predict you will one day receive a sale price of XX,XXX for it. depending as always for all vr domains, on when you will want to cash out of the vr game.

all the best with your investment.

I have many names related to that word, but there is one that I especially like:

VRS*xperiences.com

Yes but this won't be pr0n as we know it.

Teledildonics/Haptics and what the virtual girlfriend experience will bring, will be like nothing pr0n as experienced before.

You will be feeling what you are seeing :)

@KingslayerVR , since you are so sceptical about WebVR, what is the value you see in that domain? Who will buy it? What will they use it for?

Don't get me wrong. I think it's a great name. But I think it's great specifically because of WebVR.

If you have a VR website generating income that's a great way to pay for renewals if it is generating enough. I find websites very time consuming and costly to be done properly. I never took it further after the quotes.

I've gone back to the basics as I get more inquiries monthly now. I hope it pays off for you and make a killing as you have some fantastic VR domains :xf.smile:

You really should give WPRobot a look. Not that I have mines up and running been too busy. But RSS feeds from save vr sites that have RSS feeds? And a way to mix the RSS content?

Plus mix Amazon and alibaba affiliate adds with the RSS feeds? Now you have a website that has fresh content daily. Granted it's not YOUR content. But hey way better than just parking .

Just my two cents.

Throw in a press release for each site that gets picked up by Google news. Now you have domain you can sit on for the next five years.

But I probably don't know what I'm talking about lol

Wait a minute, so you are only investing in VR domains because of WebVR? O_o

I'm not skeptical of WebVR, i think it's a good concept, but i don't think it's going to be that killer app that sells VR to the masses or going to change the VR domain industry in any shape or form.

WebVR will be one of many VR browser apps and browser apps to view domain names is not whats going to sell VR headsets in the millions, as said yesterday there's just not a huge demand for something like this by businesses or the general public.

Alcy, VRH2O is a great name. Nice reg

yeah... not bottom of pyramid. not the top either.
but its good!

the other .me stuff was just 40 cent a pop promo fun.
though i wouldn't mind using VirtualNa.me or VRdomainNa.me for say my vr portofolio sale site or something

I think someone here already uses somehting like this in .com for their vr site
;)

my imaginary crystal ball says vrh2o will be a XXXX sale within next 5 years.
it only says how many figure sales vr domains get. it does not say high low mid etc.
its an older crystal ball model. I think the newer ones say high/low/mid
I should upgrade.

for the more visual folk.. here is the pyramid distribution diagram of VR domain values/profits... on top is stuff like VRgames... at bottom is things like VRbanana or VRpotato

so my VRh2o is neither at the top, nor at the bottom.

There are many reasons, but they differ between domain names. For example:

RevolutionVR - great brandable for a VR producer.

VrMassageChair - an actual physical product that you can buy.

But then there are also the names I think would be epic for WebVR. Like TexasHoldemVR for example. When people want to try out VR poker, why would they download an app when they can experience it directly in their browser? And why would casino companies even build apps when their customers can enjoy their games without having to download an app?

as said yesterday there's just not a huge demand for something like this by businesses or the general public.

Of course there is no demand right now. Hardly anybody has heard about WebVR. But can't you see the huge potential for basically ALL businesses to be able to emmerse their customers in virtual reality when they visit their sites? You can try out clothes, cars, shoes, take courses, check out hotels, whatever - all through the browser without having to download a specific app from that company.

This is by far the craziest thing I've ever read. Everyone, bookmark and save this post, so you can have a little chuckle 5 years from now the way we do today about how people underestimated the Internet in the 90s :-D.

Just to give you some pointers, WebVR is not an app or "concept" or "just some thing" as VRDommy hilariously stated some months ago.

Whether you all realize or not, we're all here because of WebVR.

From a consumers point of view they will not even notice if an app has been built with WebVR or not, nor will they care, in my opinion.

Developers will use WebVR API to implement VR functionality.

What is WebVR?

WebVR is an experimental JavaScript API that provides access to Virtual Reality devices, such as the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Samsung Gear VR, or Google Cardboard, in your browser.

https://webvr.info/

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WebVR

http://venturebeat.com/2016/09/17/how-webvr-will-make-virtual-reality-massively-available/

"Because WebVR doesn’t need expensive hardware or software to work — and is headset agnostic — it promises to make VR available to a much wider audience than traditional VR applications have reached.

Stephen White, Director at Georama, describes WebVR as having “minimum friction and maximum access.”

"the headset manufacturers are playing out their own little version of Game of Thrones, fragmenting the VR space by each creating their own native build stores. The market pundits are following suit as they envision the first wave of consumer adoption as being hinged on gaming and entertainment.

As a result, the VR industry continues to ignore WebVR, and developers forgo the most practical and accessible framework in favor of more powerful engines like Unity."

"WebVR, on the other hand, exists where there are already users and traffic: the web. It’s democratic, transparent, and cheap if not free.

“You get content a LOT faster as websites,” says Michael Chang, Director at MinMax. “Each Steam game experience requires buying, downloading, and some kind of initial process. On a website you visit, pop on the headset, and you’re in.”

"Developers who are not yet acquainted with VR will also find it to be the easiest way to enter the scene. The learning curve for game engines like Unity can be steep, but not so for WebVR."

The point of WebVR isn't apps. Think outside the app, bro....

Exactly. It's a development tool for developers.

Yeah. Sometimes I think we are talking about different things here. WebVR is the internet in virtual reality. a.k.a The Metaverse.

Right now I'm sitting in my kitchen infront of a computer screen writing this. In a coupple of years I could be writing this sitting in outer space, under the sea, or wherever. In VR. That is WebVR.

Crazyest thing you have ever read? I think whats crazy is pinning all your domaining hopes on an app called ‘WebVR’ honestly, if all your VR domaining hopes is on the WebVR app then you need to start asking yourself why you are investing in domains.

This is like going back to 2006 getting excited by PS3 browser, saying how revolutionary it is/how people now have a system to play games as well browse the World Wide Web on our TV’s and how it is going to do laptops/desktops out of business, registering domains like ConsoleBrowserMovies.com.

No web browsing app is going to stop advancements in technology, if you think VR domains aren’t really needed if not for WebVR, well that’s like trying to find reasons for the world not to use CD’s and stick with cassette tapes and convincing yourself the world still needs cassette tapes.

End of the day, yes one day VR/AR/MR may one day make domains redundant, it’s not going to happen yet though or in the foreseeable future while people are still using laptops/desktops – WebVR or no other VR browser app (and there will be many) is going to prevent this change from happening when it does.
