Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

I don't think VRtual is a bad move at all. And you did the smart thing... you went after cornering the best keywords. You only need to sell one is what I tell myself in a situation like this! I don't know how I feel about the sports ones but I like the General Section you have there. I personally only have 2 VRtualShop.com and VRtualStore.com I think you'll do real well my friend.

Yeah i wouldn't have done it if all the big keywords wasn't available. It was kind of a 'all or nothing' sort of thing at the time and seemed like too of a good oppunity not to take a punt on.

As for the sport ones, i don't know, growing up in the 90's playing 'Virtua' games like 'fighter/striker' I'm kinda confident about the sport ones even more so than the others.

See how it goes anyway, I'll renew them and promote them more this time round, something i haven't really done with them this past year.

Programmatic I agree isn't great as it has only one instance of a sale with this keyword in it.

but I do believe that Programmatic will be big.
For example.

Remember when we started to see advertising in games? I'm not talking about annoying popups.

I'm talking about slick ads inserted into the game. like the Coke or Pepsi Logo on the side of a Bus in a PS4 game. Player is doing a walk thru and there you see an innocently placed ad.

So just like people pay for placement on those 40 foot billboard ads on the side of the highway.

Companies will start buying ads IN VR videogames.

if done right? a bidding war can happen if you create a way for advertisers to bid on that placement.
