My landers are still on undeveloped servers and they direct to Dan.com landing pages just fine so I think for the most part it works, however, it will probably take time for their change to propagate across the internet.
could i see one of your landers

Type into your browser: SmartClock.com

I'm actually really liking the new look of the landing pages, its a lot more clean.

What's the Dan nameservers?

Yes, don't change your name servers to ns1.dan.com yet. I just spent a while changing them at Unireg and only a few got changed. I changed the NS at Porkbun to ns1.dan.com and it said ERROR so I checked with their C/S and they said those nameservers aren't registered yet.

I think someone said something like the old nameservers should forward you to new page ...i'll try that

And we would all expect that, but eventually the domain will be redundant and the time will come to sell it.
States on site that Dan is a subsidiary of Undeveloped, meaning they would be keeping the Undeveloped name as the controlling entity.

**

While Dan is more memorable, I think it's almost little too generic, and takes away from the brand message they had developed with Undeveloped. Time will tell how people take to it.

Great buy on Dan.com seems like a decent price for the buyer.

I think having DAN.com gives them instant credibility, like the new blockchain based transfer system.

These guys are thinking ahead of the rest, congrats. Give it time guys, it’s about fast transfer, and payment. I don’t know what sedo, or afternic mean, but they still work.

It is probably wise to wait like you say since the undeveloped ones work fine, but I did try changing one of my domains to the ns1.dan.com, ns2.dan.com and it works fine (the domain name is at Dynadot that i tried it on). I expect it was just an information propagation delay you encountered at that registrar, and will be fine now or soon.

I might be noob but I agree with Bob.

Whenever I outbounded and mentioned undeveloped.com, it did not sound trustworthy imho. It's a negative word, like uninsured or uncooked or unloved or uncouthed. But i just rolled with it.

Now ever since DAN, I quickly and happily changed my outbound template by replacing all instances of undeveloped with dan . No idea why most ppl hate it?? It's a premium ultra domain that subconsciously makes buyers trust it because no domain that short and that familiar would be a scam. It automatically instills trust, or at least enough trust to get then to dive.

But I guess most ppl don't outbound so this value is lost on them.

On another point, it's crazy how that small subtle merit of being more credible on first impression is worth 190k.. I'm not business savvy enouf to understand it... But this is the epitome of why domaining works. The utility and net revenue increase in this subtle public perception is more than 190k.. which is so crazy.. and that's why we all have buyer -- for that very same reason

The UI overhaul wasn't needed as I felt quite comfortable with their previous UI, nevertheless the new UI looks intuitive as well.

Good job Undeveloped team

(Do we have any official from Undeveloped Team on NamePros?)

I am going to respectfully disagree with much of what's already been said. DAN is a great name, a phenomenal acronym and a mind blowing domain.

The name is fantastic and the project is admirable. I fear the average Joe will be overwhelmed by the technical information. KISS. With that said I haven't looked at the new process for buying domains.

They need to be very careful that it's a smooth and frictionless transaction that doesn't overload users with irrelevant information and too many options. They just want to buy a domain.

One question. So i need to change my nameservers for my listed domains?

Regardless of what people say here, I believe it will only revamp our industry and boost sales for people who use them - DAN is a lot more trust able as a brand compared to Undeveloped (sort of has some negative feeling attached to it)

Also it appears they're heading into a direction they took when EPIK merger failed - I think we might as well see a DAN registrar soon.

Everyone must read Reza's article which highlights key issues the industry faces today.

Also we shall see how everything pans out in few days in terms of landing pages and everything else that comes with DAN.

This team is doing what no team has done AFAIK. DAN seems to be a project that'll change the way things are done, will they need to make some changes? Probably, but its too soon to tell what those changes will be.

They literally just launched.

If we see DAN a registrar, thats when the other big players will pay very close attention.

I personally would like too see it succeed. Just because of the effort put into it, & the fact that they guy literally spends countless hours responding to the "very hard to please domainers".

By the way,
It really makes it easier for @Reza and his team to keep everything on a single thread.
All the errors and feedback.
He could've made a seperate thread to announce things but he said a couple days ago that it would be on the Undeveloped Experience thread.
Just thing about how much easier it is to read all the errors and feedback on one thread, even for us.

I mean DAN has all the letters of DOMAIN in alphabetical order. Could that be the concept? Kind of like a domain butler aka Jeeves, but named Dan.

Considering the amount of money that must have been spent acquiring DAN.com, I hope it works out for them. That said, I prefer Undeveloped.com. Shorter isn't always better.
