Transfers - What happens to left over time?

When you transfer a domain that, for example, has two months left at the current registrar, does the new registrar add this time or is it lost?

Most registrars will give you an additional year for the transfer price plus the remaining time you've got left. So if you have 2 months left and you transfer from eNom to GoDaddy for example then you would have a year and 2 months left.

The domain is at Register.com and I want to transfer it to Enom. Is it likely that Enom would add the time?
