I have seen a big drop in traffic for several of my performing .mobi's this month. They are parked on .mobi.

For example, aghani.mobi had 190 views and 85 clicks.
This month it only has 2 views and 0 clicks until yesterday.

Any explanation?

Thanks,
Aboujouj

Being summertime and likely less domainers like us typing 'em in, IMHO. :gl:

Enjoy the BBQ's! :music:

Or, the amount of domainers typing in for a name, to see if its registered or not, has dropped down.

Traffic is going to be hit or miss right now. If and when .mobi starts being promoted and advertised more, then traffic should improve on these generics that we own.

A .mobi default button put on just one or two brands of phones would help too! Hoping one of the 'backers' will do that part.

Yes, good point and that would certainly help IMHO. :gl:

"Edwards also claimed that consumers won't necessarily have to key in the actual characters - .mobi - when visiting a site. That's because browsers from Access, Nokia and Openwave will automatically default to assuming that the user wants the .mobi domain, not the .com site."

this is said as a fact and it would seem that it isn't, but mere wishful thinking!

rereading this, "assuming the user wants to" could just mean that they go in and set the default - which is night and day compared to a default button on the phone suggesting its use.

I would have to agree. Parked sites present no benefit to a user, so it's only natural for it to drop with time. As for developed sites, the large majority of people I've spoken with are seeing increased traffic.

The lack of traffic is because no one has created a social bookmarking site for .mobi yet... ;)
