Received a couple of emails, each of which purported interest in knowing the price of a domain. Each inquiry was for a different dot-info domain, and the emails were spaced two months apart.

Both emails read:

"Hi,

Can you tell me - is this domain on sale and a price for it?

The first email was signed "Jeff Perkins," and the second email signed "Robert Don."

Each email had a unique gmail address.

Obviously, both emails were generated from one entity.

No big deal, except just another a-hole wasting our time for some unknown reason.

Are you sure it was from the same sender? Maybe they are interested in the domain. It might be good to check if the ip address is the same in the email headers. Might also be worth a shot googling the emails. I've found that a lot of legit buyers have portfolios or online accounts that show up.

Not the same email address, but merely disposable gmail addresses. The exact same email message from two different people defies logic. After the second email I queried the sender "Robert Don" and of course received no reply.

This individual is certainly a time waster, and from the grammar I'd say not from the USA.

Ah, I see. It also may be to verify email addresses in order to sell them off to a spammer. Good to know though.

I got this one too:

"Hi,

Can you tell me - is this domain on sale and a price for it?

Robert"

IP from Mountain View CA. Also, inquiry was for a name that is pending delete. 8-X

I have received 4 from Robert Don, the same email. All for .info domains. Replied to the first one, never heard back.

I just got one from Robert Don, also about an info. He must be gathering e-mail addresses. Would like to stuff those addresses where....well, where he would remember them.

Also heard from Don about a dot-info. Thought it sounded fishy. Will listen to my intuition next time.

Me, too.

Just reeceived this one from robert.h.don at gmail .com regarding a .info on Wed., July 31, 2013 at 1:52 am. Sender wrote just the domain name (no www) in the subject line of the email just like my landing page instructs inquirers to do.

Hi,

Can you tell me - is this domain on sale and a price for it?

Robert

Great info...I'll be sure to look out for those names in my email...

I have also received multiple emails, exactly as already posted here. They also ask about .info domains.

I also didn't bother emailing back.

Obviously just another skunk wasting our time.

Just wanted to say thanks for the thread - it's saved me wasting my time replying to Mr Don. Not normally in the habit of responding to spam (!) but I'll admit his e-mail had me pondering over whether his query might be legitimate (evidently isn't...)

You're welcome.

Well I got the same email a month ago about one of my info domains.

Can you tell me - is this domain on sale and a price for it?
