Warning - Time Waster: Jesus Vargas [email protected]

I was contacted by a Jesus Vargas ([email protected]), who uses the alias 'Jv FootballFussball Domainer' on Facebook, wanting to buy a domain name I had recently registered: la.tl. I had posted in the main forum seeing if anyone recognised this as a scam, and though I'm not claiming it is, I still feel I should warn the rest of the community about this potential time waster (and in case there is some sort of scam being pulled). I'm sure most of you will agree the domain isn't the highest of quality in terms of aftermarket sales potential (it was not bought for resale) and the amount offer seemed a bit suspect from the off.

Facebook has him living in London, England, but his WHOIS details suggests he lives in Madrid:

Thank you for your enquiry.
I did have a project in mind for the domain, and have done considerable work in the last few days towards it. With that in mind, and the fact that it is a valuable short name, I would not want to sell it for so cheap, but as you're a previous owner I'll entertain offers. I would like $2600 (USD) for the domain.
If this is acceptable, I'd like to use Escrow.com for the transfer. I am happy to split the Escrow fees 50/50.
I will hold off doing any more work on the project for the next day or so for you to make your offer, but please let me know at your earliest convenience.

Hello,

As you seem sincere in your desire to own the domain, I will accept your improved offer and begin the Escrow now.
I will keep track and as soon as Escrow confirm receipt I will push the domain.
I don't know what registrar you had the domain at before, but I registered it at cctldnames.net - I think all I need is the email of your account to push the domain.

Am I to assume that your ignoring of the Escrow transaction means that you no longer want to buy this domain name?

The Escrow transaction has just timed out as he didn't log in to accept the terms (which were as per agreement, above) so I'm posting now for others might notice and know to be wary in any future dealings.
