Spaceship Spaceship

Bought the domain YOAL.com today from a member on here @ZeDiM , paid via paypal and domain not delivered. Think he is trying to sell the domain to other on here! Sent numerous messages to management but don't think they are bothered as nothing has been done!

Now the member is posting numerous negative feedback for me!

I don't mind losing my money, just don't want other to get sucked in!

Cheers

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Strong people stand up for themselves, but stronger people stand up for others.

This is crazy times here, not sure what is going on but let's all look out for each other 👊🏻

Just to put everyone's mind at ease, I've created a new user, @HackMe123. It has no special security other than a strong password. It doesn't even have 2FA enabled. If the attacker is able to get in, we'll give them $500. :) Break in and post from that account.

Don't hold your breath; it's quite clear from the logs that the attacker is unable to get into accounts with secure passwords.

Hacker looks up WHOIS on domains and finds email addresses.

Then does a phishing scam using a spoofed NamePros password reset page with the person username on it. They enter their current password to then reset their password, which is then emailed to the hacker.

No, it's just credential stuffing. We have a blog post explaining it.

Ask yourself... Would you pay $10,000 for a Ferrari to a random guy you never saw before just because he's standing next to it and pretending he's the owner? :xf.rolleyes:

In your case, it's the same exact scam attempt, but simply applied at a different scale to make it affordable and more appealing.

These scammers have absolute 0 ethical sense and don't care about their reputation. They hide behind new accounts and/or fake names online. Even if very suspicious, they know it's too tempting for some people to seize the opportunity.

NEVER pay upfront if
1- You don't know the seller
2- Seller doesn't have at least XX positive feedbacks from trustable members with XX positive feedbacks as well

Did that damn timer open up a wormhole?

We should have to upload our passport and id to participate in this community imo
Scammers would love that, it would give everyone a false sense of security. How hard is it to upload some stolen id's?

The only way to deal with new members or low history is escrow (with escrow.com dan.com etc) or if they transfer first (not just initiate transfer).

Perhaps NamePros could disallow domain sale listing on new accounts?

I did send a PM to @kite26 to warn him about this member when he posted sold.
It's too obvious it's a scam.
- New member
- The name is too cheap
- Paypal
I saw the thread but I did not post sold because It's too cheap to be true and I don't want to lose money.
This is not the first time it happened here.

I was one of the people dealing with ZeDiM and when he first told me to pay via F&F I immediately got a bad feeling and alerted @kite26 who had won the domain auction. Since Kite did not fall into the trap he came back to me asking for a payment through f&f which I did not accept. When I told him I would only do the deal through an escrow service he disappeared. I guess the only way to not be scammed as a buyer is to pay via PayPal goods&services or using an escrow service such as the one dan provides.

His email he uses is [email protected]
Here are some additional details that @ZeDiM posted:

@Dynadot account details:

GoDaddy account details:

@namesilo username:

Bitcoin (BTC):
BTC ADRESS: 3Gkde256dSohurky98rAfW4T5GGNDgkUbV

Dogecoin (DOGE):
DGWTLbLAwhTcvjAeZsJrecjSWEqYuweNz2

PayPal:

PayPal:

PayPal account details (the attacker has multiple PayPal accounts):

PLEASE DON'T ALLOW FOR NEW MEMBERS (AT LEAST) TO ASK FF PAYPAL AS PAYMENT.
Paypal fnf and crypto- scammer sign
contact them on WhatsApp now
These are helpful red flags.

The hot potato is on np hands. New rules? New guidelines? Maybe some public warning for all of us? We need protection.
Public Service Announcement (PSA):

Perhaps NamePros could disallow domain sale listing on new accounts?
Why you are viewing unknown page?
There is another discussion about these things taking place in the following thread:

Yes there is leaks here. See my online status in 5 seconds. I will share with mod E when he appears
There is a privacy setting if you'd like to disable it:

We hope that helps.

Take it as a lesson. Just don't pay members with zero or very low trade reviews. I think that NP should stop them asking FF. At least, until they complete some number of positive reviews. Again, i recommend avoiding FF for obvious reasons. Again, no FF and no crypto payments to members with zero feedback.

The scam was obvious right from the onset

Another fake seller, trying to sell tzzz.com - yukasol

Just made up 5 fake reviews then posted tzzz.com for sale.

Think management really need to do something now, this is getting daft

there's leaks/scams/spam everywhere - 2019 account on the report sales thread posting BS contact them on WhatsApp now as well

And happening all-day every day over here. I have a shortlist of 26 users compiled throughout a year, established members, hundreds of trade reviews on some, pulling off unethical business behaviour. And those aren't even hacked/compromised.

We experience crazy times. I am not sure what exactly is going on too.

Do you think this is the solution? Are you so stupid that you thought I entered with my own ip address?

For solution. They need to pay $ 500.
I am calling your mom now.

It's simple: Seller claims for paypal FF or crypto, instantly activates defensive alarms. I have lost at past $80 with those scammers. They know that if you pay them via FF they can escape with your money. Lesson learnt, i win the auction and always ask them to transfer the domain first. I did the same with this guy.

Did you try to buy as well? Think he was selling to everyone...

No, I didn't pay. I asked for transfer codes first, he declined, I then asked for Dan escrow, he declined. Obviously he came to scam

@mrcurly I really feel bad about your money loss. I know the feeling being helpless. I sent e-mail on PP when i got scammed, but nothing. Unfortunately. They know very well what they are doing. Just follow the simple rules on your next transactions. At the end of the day, you are a successful domainer and he will not have money soon.

Thanks! Onwards and upwards! :)

This is very bad, and so many were fighting to get scammed to.

I got robbed by a member on here from the domain Txeo.com in other words, I won the name, it got robbed by some member that DM'ed the seller. The member that robbed the name has over 10k names, they should've known better and maybe one day ill see what my legal options are. In the meantime if anyone comes across this by googling txeo.com just know the risks before buying it.

Calm down, what's the problem?
We suspect this account you are using was stolen.
Please provide a proof of ownership for that name (such as the one you can find in your Epik account, if you really own the name)
Or do a nameserver change.
