These people list about millions of other people's domain on afternic.
When I try to list my domain, it will show that my domain already list by these people. And I need to spend 10 minutes to send them an email and wait for a week if I want to list my domain.

So are you saying that you checked all their domains domains, and know for a fact that they have that many listings that aren't their own?

As a suggestion, unless you are truly certain that that number is a fact, perhaps it is best to simply state the problem that you are having with your listing to Afternic. Let their customer support check on the rest. They no doubt would be very concerned if there was an extreme number of domains listed there fraudulently.

My sympathies are with you with your problem. This issue was recurrent with Dan for me, and the amount of time it took to remove some of the domains was over a week in some instances.

The problem will likely not disappear until verification is mandated by both Dan and Afternic. Good luck trying to get this resolved.

Dan is much easier to delete the domain that list by other people. But afternic is really difficult.

I know who they are, afternic know who they are too. I have contact one of them to delete my domains that listed by him. Other than gdntc1 and aliyuming.

I just increase the price of one of my domain that list by aliyuming and make an offer on afternic. The Domain Specialist/Sales Executive of afternic reply me that:

“The holder of the domain name you inquired about was listed long time ago. The seller contact us and said that the current price is 1600 US dollars. The seller forget to update the price due to holiday.

The holder has rejected your offer. We have communicated with the seller that a sudden change in the price will give the buyer a bad experience. The seller said that he was sick due to COVID-19, and it was really not updated in time. Finally, after communication, we have won a preferential price of $1250.”

This is interesting, I know of a company who suddenly lost their domain (their whole business up and running on that domain).

Afternic sold the domain with a BIN price (something like $1200), and because it was already registered at GoDaddy, they just did a 'fast transfer' to the buyer's account.

The company claims that they never listed their domain name for sale, especially with a low BIN price.

What I'm now wondering is that if someone were to list YOUR domain with a BIN price, someone bought it (paid that BIN price), would it actually sell and go through 'fast transfer'.

Are you trying to say that you asked customer service to remove the listing from a fraudulent seller, but instead they are trying to sell the domain to you despite your being the actual owner?

Perhaps I'm confused on this point, since clearly this would not make sense for any support specialist to make such a proposal.

They woke up to an email that said their domain had just sold and it was already transferred out because of Fast Transfer to another godaddy account.
They never listed their domain on afternic... but maybe someone else did?

Thanks for tagging me @Ostrados. @70ym, I will DM you.

On a separate note, this (and a few other instances) have been highlighted to the Afternic team - expect some development on this soon :)

Will follow up to this issue also be provided on this thread? The original poster has raised some serious concerns, and there may be others in the Namepros community, such as myself, that would like to hear the outcome.

This is obvious loophole for scammers, they can list millions of domains, in hope few domain owners will approve fast transfer by mistake.

Before enabling Fast Transfer the domain seller must prove ownership of the domain through a concrete method such as TXT records, screenshot can easily be faked.

Same loopshole applies to DAN as well with their new Afternic syndication

This is not their main purpose. They list the domains that list on other marketplace. If the domain sold on afternic, they will buy it on other marketplace. For example, if I list a domain for $20 on a marketplace, they will list it for $487 on afternic.

Domain front running is likely to be a continued issue with Dan and Afternic. That's a shame, but understandable. Fast Transfer provides an obvious loophole to allow if not even promote such activities. After all, who wouldn't want to make money from a domain sale, without ever having to pay the renewal fees and pay for the domain itself?

Again, until ownership verifications are mandatory for listing, this problem will likely not be resolved any time soon.

In your case, though, is the issue that the domain has actually be taken by these individuals? Or is it that they are listing it, and you are able to confirm that you still own it?

Nasty trick!

Thats why we should always list our domains in Afternic.

Admittedly, I've never been comfortable with that argument for listing at Afternic or Dan. Does it really make sense, to feel that you have to list there, in order to avoid others listing your domains without your permission?
But, if that rationale works for you, go for it.

Yup it is totally rational for me because I sell my domains + protect from fast transfer theft in one shot.

I have hundreds of domains in my portfolio that I can't list on afternic because they are already listed there by either previous owners or other people who have listed them for no reasons even though they don't own thew domains. I contacted Afternic and they want me to send a screenshot of every domain which is ridiculous because I don't have the time to send dozens of emails with hundreds of screenshots.

There has to be a better way.

Ideally, even if someone who doesn't own the domain had listed the name in Afternic, and if it was sold, by default it should NOT be transferred via 'FAST TRANSFER', unless, there is 'Fast Transfer' approval in place. But, god only knows what process being followed by GD and Afternic. The domainers for most of the times, are at the mercy of the registrars. I only have 2 names in GD, as they were account pushed - purchase. Will move them out soon.

I have privacy off. If there is ever a question, I can refer them to lookup.icann.org. Sadly, for Dan, they still insisted upon having a screenshot in the last case of the fake listing. Previously, though, they had accepted my insisting that ownership could be easily proved with the privacy off.

Truly, I am very saddened to hear that you are having such great difficulty. And truly, I hope Afternic implements stringent verification methods to prevent this in the future.

This is a serious flaw in the entire business process - selling your asset WITHOUT your permission. IDEALLY, SOMEONE SHOULD BE ABLE TO SUE such business practices. I'm sure one can't put neighbour's property for sale online, let alone a domain name.

Twitter handle BlakNames already reported this issue. And after realizing this issue, I have stopped approving fast transfer in SAV, as once approved in SAV, it's not possible to revoke the approval - at least, I don't see any such option. Note: NameCheap & Dynadot permit approve/remove fast transfer.

The scary thing was that even when my domains were removed from Fast Transfer AND Afternic completely, the Fast transfer kept showing up anyhow on certain domains for unclear reasons. At least one of the domains where that happened most recently was a fake listing at Dan.

It took some time (months, I believe) and multiple support tickets to finally get Fast transfer to stop showing up. While I was reassured that still is enough security in place to prevent any possible perpetrators from stealing the domains. Nonetheless, I stopped using Afternic and Dan for all my Namecheap domains.

So, yes, you might think you have removed them from Fast Transfer. I found that this was not so easy to do when double checking matters.

Millions? Isn't that the entire marketplace I see 10 each which probably were ones that owned them before.

As I said before for peace of mind make sure all your domains are listed in your Afternic account, removing them means someone else can add them. There is no benefit from removing them from Afternic, if you dislike selling at Afternic then at least list them as make offer at Afternic (make offer disables fast transfer btw)

Since the recurrent Fast Transfer posting was showing up on my registrar account, I decided to try putting the names back with make offer only. I thought that would solve the problem.

It didn't. The Fast Transfer still showed up again. That's when I decided to completely remove them from Afternic. Now, after multiple tickets to tech support, the FT designation has been off and is staying off. So, no I'm not inclined to relist them even as "make offer" again.

Afternic sold the domain with a BIN price (something like $1200), and because it was already registered at GoDaddy, they just did a 'fast transfer' to the buyer's account.

Wow! If that's true, that's a huge security breach!

This means that I can sell any domain name registered on godaddy for $20 on afternic and immediately seize the ownership.

At least one of the domains where that happened most recently was a fake listing at Dan.

Just now, I found that there is fake listing of my name (kisser.xyz) in DAN.
Currently it's in Auction @ Sav, and 6 days left. Before putting it in auction I had removed it from Dan. So, the below FAKER has listed MY NAME in his account.
