Just wanted to share with the political thread that I will be in/near the Charlotte area for the RNC.

I had been scheduled to assisit an old friend with their work during the convention but when it was scaled back, so were the contracts. Now that the President is coming, the work load will be increasing. Word is that the resistRNC group is going to have some unwelcome guests in their ranks (militant antifi and blm types), The security folks here and the Charlotte PD are not going to tolerate violent protesting and will scoop up anyone that is not peacefully protesting.

I'll pop in with any interesting info and/or pics if worthy of sharing.

I hear you but that's sort of the problem. Seems to me, Trumps handling of his job has felt a lot like some sort of dictatorship.

Do you have one example of Trump acting like a dictator?

More than any other time in recent history. I actually think Trump wishes he was a ruler or king versus an elected official with a defined term. I watch politics every day, Even a big tv on the wall in my office. Trump has sewn the seeds of chaos and division. I've heard his words. They are what they are.

What networks do you watch?

I concede that there are those that will cast their vote for him, but I truly believe that Trump is not worthy of the highest office. I believed that in 2016 and I believe it more than ever almost four years later after seeing how he performed and behaved.

Let's see how the debates go.

Trump is worthy of the highest office because he was chosen by Americans for that office.

I tend to look past the media driven hysteria and focus on accomplishments. The democrats have accomplished almost nothing in the last 12 years. They've encouraged division and violence from the beginning. Multiple democrat congress people, who should know better encouraged confrontations.

Trump nominated Brett Kavanaugh and democrats turned it into a media circus in an attempt to destroy a honorable man.

Over 80 days of violent protest in Portland and Seattle and democrats pretend it's not happening.

Obama admin used FBI to spy on Trump's campaign even after he was elected. FBI lawyer plead guilty to falsifying documents. Democrats, FBI knew Russian collusion was a hoax before they started the Muller investigation.

President Trump is the only President to push back on China's spying and theft.

President Trump has tried to END WARS, not keep them going. Remember Obama ignoring ISIS until they controlled most of Northern Iraq and Syria?

President Trump mad our country energy independent, brought back manufacturing in a BIG way to the USA.

President Trump has helped revamp the Veterans Admin ( a little ) an almost impossible job. Something every politician promised to do for decades.

Whuhan virus has been a huge challenge. Could have been handled better but President Trump has done a better job than Obama did with H1N1. Trump mobilized the military and private business with great effect. Everyone was slow to react but when Trump banned travel from China, democrats were calling him racist and homophobic.

The media has created more trouble and division in the country than Donald Trump. When the fake US Post Office scandal fizzled, they pivoted to accusing trump of supporting an obscure group trolling the media with conspiracy theories.

The media has 100% ignored the violence and looting happening in major cities across the nation.

I don't call the ACA almost nothing....

I didn't think it was right to block Merrick Garland. Much better than Cavanaugh.

All the rest of your post was narrow focused fiction. Sorry but it's just not true what you are saying. Trump is horrible in my opinion. IMO, there has never been a worse Democrat or Republican president.

IMO, Trump has failed on so many levels. The tariffs hurting farming, the lame immigration debacle, and so on.

Personally, I've never seen such a mess. All at the cost of America's standing in the world and the our lives here at home.

About the only thing I give Trump credit for is his mishandling of the virus which caused me to have little to no freeway traffic the last few months. I appreciate driving without the normal heavy traffic.

Tariffs were a boon to farming in the long run. Many farmers supported them. The US-Mexico-Canada Agreement is a major improvement for the USA.

I truly believe the Repubican Party has lost their way. They have allowed the party to become cultish. They need to spend the next 8 years rebuilding, rebranding, and re-evaluating their course.

It's a shame really, because there are many Republicans that are in conflict over this coming decision. They want to vote Republican but they know voting for Trump, knowing his attitudes, knowing his performance, knowing his results, would be almost like a sin. Overlook his vulgarity, sexism, racism, anger and vote for him to get a conservative agenda passed, is a very dangerous proposition.

Noone is going to change their opinion about Trump. Either you overlook his glaring faults and take the money, or vote for Biden, a Democrat. For a true Republican I imagine it's a difficult place to be.

It's simple for me. Given the choices, ignoring the fear-mongering and worries about Socialism, Biden is by far the quality person. Not even worth discussing.
