Just want to let you guys know putting 'the sweat' on end users really works, even if it is unintentional.

I replied to a company the other day but realized I had typo'ed the wrong email address in a reply.

Long story short I doubled the profit because of this extra unintended 24 hour soak.
:bingo:

It's a gamble.
I have sellers try to "sweat" me all the time on SEDO/afternic.
I'd say about 50% of the time, they wind up losing the sale all together as I apply my available capital to other areas in the meantime. 25% of the time, I reiterate my initial offer and the other 25% of the time, I'll deal. Meaning that for me, 50% of the time, the "sweat" has a direct negative effect.

I think a lot of sellers need to understand that just because someone makes you an offer on a name, that doesn't mean they're "desperate" to own it. It seems that the theme and tack of most "domainer" negotiations is predicated on a buyer who is in some sort of frenzy to own the domain and they have him over a barrel. Sometimes, its the case but most times it isn't.
