The Ethics of Fake-PR domains

hi

i know some domains which i know are fakePR domains for sure but they are showing real PR in most popular Fake-Pr checkers like checkpagerank.net etc..

even the method to manually verify domains by typing in the domain name in google search and seeing the first search result shows the first result to be the same as that of the domain.

therefore do u think that it is ethical and right to sell these domains claiming them as Pageranked domains??

Also, would u sell such domains if u were the owner of these??

It would be 100% unethical not to tell the buyer that the domains displayed a fake pr.

By all means tell them of the suspected real pr but not to mention the fake pr would be somewhat fraudulent.

Hi,

I use sem-faq.com to verify PR in most cases. Even then, the checker can be fooled, especially if a similar looking cctld domain has the real PR. If I get a green, valid result, I double-check by typing info:domain into Google search. If there is a result in the index and it's for the exact domain entered (not a redirect), I assume that the PR is valid.

I say, 'Assume' because I have yet to find a way that can 100% guarantee valid PR. This method is very solid though IMO. I use it when publishing free lists of PR domains.

I then check for backlinks with the backlink analyzers at seologs.com and iwebtool.com I avoid domains with no or very few backlinks. These domains are more likely to lose their PR quickly.

Are these the techniques you employ to determine valid PR, or are there better ones?

I would not knowingly sell a fake PR domain as valid. It really annoys me that sellers on eBay are preying on inexperienced buyers by selling fake PR domains and editing screenshots or providing irrelevant information to make it look as though it's real. A good percentage of PR domains on eBay are fake and the sellers are getting positive feedback :td:

Matt.

Wordsworth , I also used the same method to verify till i found out that info:domain is also no a foolproof method..

and in the domain in question (cant reveal the name), info:domain in google also reveals the same domain as a search result.

is that to say that the domain is now real-PR?? i know it is not. that is why i was in a dilemna
