Why does TDNAM take 2 weeks or so to transfer over purchased domain name from a third-party broker?

The third-party broker told me if I went to them direct (as i should have but TDNAM allegedly offers escrow) it would have taken 48hrs max.

I'm nearly 2 week into a $8000 name, still not in my account. When I inquired at TDNAM (who seem clueless) I was told ANOTHER 5-7 days. The broker has transferred it over, and the whois is now Godaddy.

It took them all of 10 seconds to debit my credit card when i purchased it.

Not happy. I'm losing revenue daily. And somebody else is gaining it.

Also expired domain purchases? they say in the account in 2 weeks. Well I'm still waiting 3 weeks later.... even more unhappy.

Well, the first issue you bring up is due to the buyer transfering the domain name and TDNAM (your dealing with 2 parties, 1 of which doesnt have any urgency to finalize the deal).

The 2nd issue in regards to expired domain auctions is this. When the domain hits TDNAM - the domain name is still in redemption status. (its only 12 days past expiration) The owner has several weeks to redeem the domain name before it can be given to the winning bidder. Although there site says 2 weeks, this is not accurate by any account. In TDNAM section where it shows the domains youve won, it should give you a specific date the domain will be yours on.

That makes sense. Thanks. I was puzzled about the differing dates, some sooner than others. Can I assume from a whois expiry date + 42 days = when it will finally be past redemption status? If so thats a handy rule to know...

you could have work directly with the seller for faster transfer. When I sold my names, the buyer asked me directly to push into his account.

thats the way it worked for me on a sale and a purchase, name gets pushed between the transacting people. GD just handles the money

dont know why name was pushed to GD whois
