Win a name?
Now get it faster!

Effective Sept. 2, 2005 members winning expired domain auctions wait for just 2 weeks for the name to be reassigned.

Thats a big improvement, It's been Taking about six weeks for me now.

Yep, there was some mention in another thread about a week ago. This is a big improvement, and I'm looking forward to seeing it actually happen. If you look around your account when logged in, you will notice several other minor (but significant) changes they have added in the last couple weeks. It looks like they are starting to give the place a bit more attention, and working out the wrinkles. Let's hope it continues.

One of the new additions, inside the "won" section of your account, your names now show date you won the auction -VS- date you actually received the domain. They even made it retroactive for the old names. This might not seem like a big deal on the surface - but it tell me they are serious about the new 'shorter' waiting period.

I agree,But at the same time,They are auctioning names they don't own in alot of cases,Names still in redemption period and that makes no sense. They have the good names,The site is setup nice,They just need to start completing transactions and making more comittment to the bidders on the names they list imo.

Yes, their choice of putting names up so early in the cycle has always been the biggest criticism, and well deserved most would say. I can't help but think now, however - that with this new shorter waiting period they are promising to auction winners, that changes are also being made in their whole cycle schedule.

At least, I hope! :talk:
