I'm looking for a little help with a subdomain question.

I have set-up a subdomain for one of my sites (the existing site is a PR4) and I do not know how I should handle SEO for the subdomain.

Should I submit it to Google, Yahoo!, etc. as I would a new website or will it be automatically indexed because of the "base" domain?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

If that subdomain is being linked from the main site or any other site on the interenet then don't worry it will be indexed by the spiders.

As subdomain or as independence site?

Nick is correct, if you are linking to the new subdomain from the home page it should pick up the pr automatically in time.

Let me make this a little clearer, YOU NEVER HAVE TO SUBMIT TO A SEARCH ENGINE!

By submitting the site IMHO you are trying to tell the search engines to do something. They like to do their own thing, so just get links on other sites that have a good pr and you will get indexed in 3-5 days I gurantee it!
