.tv Spanish .TV names

Spanish .TV names, are they worth registering? Has there been any decent sales of them?

Only in the use I think there are over 30 million spanish people.

And over 300 million worldwide.

Plus 200 million Portuguese-speaking Brazilians who understand most of Spanish terms.

And I have some .tv spanish domains as well...

Not bad ones, but they are not very directly related with media content...

- "Oficinas" means literally "Offices", so could be good for a company offering offices for rental, for example.

- "Calzado" means "Footwear", used here for calling the market of companies making shoes... Anyway, too generic for my taste.

In summary, in my opinion, you could ask for low $ XXX for these domains.

What about a generic spanish word.tv that has nothing to do with tv/video/travel/news etc. that probably couldn't be made into a video site.

I look .TV as for video content sites. Anything that is not related to this kind of content could be a bit harder to market regardless of the language.

But if you find a good generic word then get it. I have made the mistake in the past of not buying some good names because nothing came to my mind on what to put there and then some of this names have become very good sites.

I guess, more important than a name is the people behind it. What they can do for it.

Ok guys, I finally went for it & registered my 1st Spanish domain that I was weighing up if I should register it or not. Here it is:

www.Restaurante.tv - I believe it's a correct translation of Restaurant in Spanish, right? (Don't speak any spanish myself)

What do you think about this name? What value would you put on this one?

LaCocina.tv might not be as effective as Cocina.tv. Putting 'the' in front of the generic does reduce its visibility a little. Just my thoughts from a non Spanish person.

LaCocina is not bad. You could put some cooking videos there. Yes, having the "La" in front of it does hurt it a little but the terms is well understood and used in the spanish world.

As per restaurante.TV, it does means restaurant. I think is a good name.

I think at the end of the day any common generic related to every day life (money, house, family, work, etc) can have some integration with video and TV. As stated earlier, it's the driving force behind the development.

Thank you very much for your comments. I know la cocina is not as good as cocina, but I think LaCocina.TV is the second best name in Spanish after cocina.tv

Although, as ioadomain wrote, the value of a domain is directly related with the possibility of a good development, I think that "LaCocina" is not an Spanish premium keyword at all...

By the way, "Decoracion.TV" could be a good one and may be $XXXX more in your bank account if you sell it someday... :bingo:

Not bad, but "Apostar" means "To bet" and the infinitive form is not very used here at websites... If you had "Apuestas"... :hehe:
