.tv Spanish .tv Thread -Domains & The Market Is Heating Up!

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Hi everyone,

we have some big .tv investors in the spanish market here and lets form an offical thread on this. the spanish market is being developed, some big sales are happening and offers im hearing. imo the spanish market is forming well, the values on spanish words are going up and with a growing spanish population worldwide, usa as well. one of the fastest growing sectors and fortune 500 companies are taking notice on these facts.

please state why you like the spanish market, your overview on things and list of names you own. english version would help as well!!!

Why I like Spanish .Tv

jim had gotten me very interested in spanish .tv and a couple other .tv investors in this market. i really enjoy this market and reading old spanish posts the past couple years here. i wish i had bought up spanish names when i first came on the boards but i didnt. took me many months to finally realize what jim was saying and i personally owe jim a big thankyou into this area and answering my various questions i had and im sure i annoyed him as well, lol..thanks jim and thats why your spanish .tv king here-you noticed this trend early on and you own a killer portfolio in .tv and the .com. :great:

we always bad talk about demand media and Verisign factors and there big yearly fees on names. one great thing about spanish .tv and growth sector is that most of the key words have not been priced up like the english .tv names. of course there are exceptions to things-news.tv is 7k a year sitting, comedy at 50k and a few others in spanish. imo this is a huge for .tv developments and price appreciation on paper values. eventually the usa market is predicted that the white population will eventually be a minority and the spanish market here in the usa market is huge. american businesses catering to spanish families who do not speak english that well or not at all. the spanish forums have really taken off and there all huge believers in .tv. hope one day namepros .tv forum can expand into the spanish domainer community one day and be a wise chose for rj as well.

My Spanish .tv Names:-please put english version as well for us-makes things a lot easier for us

keyword in spanish (english version)

1. esposa.tv (wife.tv)
2. esposas.tv (wifes.tv)
3. copiadoras.tv (copiers.tv)
4. cachorro.tv (puppy.tv)-purchased and nda through johntv-thanks john!
5. gatos.tv (cats.tv)-purchased and nda through johntv-thanks john!
6. hispanas.tv (hispanic.tv) namejet
7. many more names to announce in the future

(hope to buy more names and will probably try to develope a couple names i am sensing-mainly gatos.tv for sure). need to buy more spanish names and im looking around each day. need to try to keep up with the players in this field(lol) but right now i am in little league learning the market and hope to allocate a huge spanish portfolio before the .tv cruise party!)

Just announced on a Spanish domain forum the acquisition of Musica.tv for six figures by Domibay SL (also holds juegos.tv).

Musica is one of the top 5 spanish keywords to have IMO along with juegos,
sexo, peliculas, pornografia.

Garptrader, please put the word out if these guys can disclose the price and send it to Ron at DNjournal.com. That would be an "earth shattering" sale that would look real sweet on next week's sales charts!!!

Thanks, Jim

Musica was owned by Mrs. Jello and the renewal fee must have been $25 - $50. The sale is a good one for sure. This is the second purchase that Domibay has made form Mrs. Jello that seems to be "public." This definitely helps folks that have Spanish portfolios. :) I am seeing more inquiries on my names as well.

Best,
A

Garp: Do you have a link for the sale?

I notified the administrator of another domain forum and provided the link. Then I went back this evening and was wondering where the thread went. Apparently they moved the thread to only forum members. We'll have to see if they eventually disclose the precise figure or if it just remains as $XXXXXX+. In either case that is an enormous sale for the extension and not even in English. What I find even more amazing is that this development group already has a music video portal VideoMusicales.tv so it seems kind of odd they would fork out that much money for another domain in the same space (though clearly a good choice). Attached is the search volume from SEO Book for the word musica...

Garp,
I did find the thread and it looks like it could have been close to $150,000 or greater. Did Domibay confirm?

The buyer said that he cannot disclose any more information, just that the sale is in the $xxx, xxx range.

According to another user, the domain was for sale a few years back for 150,000 or 300,000 (he is not sure if $ or eur). Anyway the buyer has not confirmed or denied anything.

Still ask the buyer if he can confirm that he bought it in the $xxx, xxx range without disclosing more info and send that over to Ron Jackson at DNJournal.com to see if he can mention it in next weeks sales chart.

This is great news for the .tv extension as well as for the spanish market.

Thanks, Jim

There is a lot of potential. I have spoken to one owner who apparently has rejected a 75,000 EUR offer for a Spanish .TV. He apparently wants a minimum of a 100,000 EUR. Pretty good name too! :)

I just picked up Muchacha(dot)tv & Muchachas(dot)tv which I believe means Girl & Girls in Spanish. So far I've only got a few Spanish names but am slowly building up my portfolio

Decent pickups. I would imagine chica(s).tv is probably more appropriate for girl(s). Just my two cents.

That was the same for Juegos, no disclosure.

Looks like the same buyer (Domibay) confirmed they purchased VideoJogos.TV (Videogames in countries such as Brazil) for $XXXX. It looks like the owner is creating a brand around music and games.

Ioannis,
Some pretty nice names there! Have you been focused on developing? Are you gaining any end user inquiries?

I presently have one of my 'rare' Spanish names on SEDO auction. It is reg free and, due to the fact that my Spanish is abysmal, I feel I am really the wrong person to develop the name properly, so should get rid.

The English version of the name 'Rabbit.TV' has been taken since 2004, but is still a $500 a year premium.

If rabbit.tv was worth $2500, would I be wrong to hope for a price of one-tenth of the same English language name valuation?

Are Spanish names THAT hot - or should I be happy with a $60 bid?

Jimbo,
I am totally biased, but I believe the Spanish market is only starting to heat up with the various XX,XXX to XXX,XXX unannounced sales. Huge dollars are entering the space and as is in the UK, there is more adoption of the .TV extension. With that being said, there still has to be a niche or some way for an end user to experience return. Although 'consejo' may be a generic term, you have to ask the question as to what would an end user develop with that? The traditional response would be a video centric site based on rabbits, pet related, etc. Could this be a huge revenue model? I think as in any space, you still have to be specific on how a business can create a brand around it. Again, just my opinion. Good luck.

Best,
A

P.S. I will even go out on a limb and say that eventually Spanish .TV sales will sell for more than even English .TV generics.

Hello Ammudamus...

Actually, yes, I have had some offers for some of the names. I would love to develop them but have very little time. The funny thing is I'm actually a developer (PHP, Flex, Ajax.. all kind of web stuff) but I'm more involved into developing for clients at this point. Eventually I will work in some of this domains sooner than later.

Regards
