Small idea i came up with while reading some topics

i was reading some topics created by some newbies to domaining and i think we should put like a tip box somewhere at the top of the page that displays random tips or stuff like that...about domaining...or showing links to one of those sticky topics that are useful to them...or just some general guidelines...
is it a good idea or its just my mind that thinks so? and users can turn it off or on
