Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas! Happy Holidays!

Always,
Keith
(on behalf of Sedo)

That will be right for now. It means that the click actually represents $0.094
At that rate you would expect $94 for 1000 clicks. That is what RPM means - Revenue Per Thousand clicks.
The RPM can fluctuate due to the probability that each click has a different amount of revenue associated with it.

Correct. It is the estimated revenue that will be earned per 1000 clicks.

any SEDO experts out there?

I own a portfolio of around 10,000 domains, of which 500 are parked at SEDO. For years I've been of the "buy and hold" mindset and never bothered to even park them, but I'm giving it a shot now.

I'm looking for someone to manage my SEDO account by categorizing and optimizing my parked domains. I will pay 20% commission on revenue. Optimization is an ongoing process of monitoring stats and tweaking the template, keywords, and category to obtain the best conversions.

I expect to register another 1000+ domains in the next month or so exclusively for cash parking at SEDO, so you could make a nice income if you're an expert at this kind of thing.

Email me at [email protected] to get started on this project.

I have a domain parked at Sedo. For the past 3 months it was getting just 1 or 2 clicks per month, then suddenly just the past 5 days it was getting 14 to 20 clicks per day, all coming from USA. wtf? Am i being sabotaged so my account gets banned? I was planning to temporarily point the domain to my webhost provider so I can see if the IPs have any pattern or some sort.

can't add to sedo?

I got a domain from snapdomains recently. When I tried to add to sedo, I could not. Contacted I was told that this domain was previous owner violated TOS. I tried to dispute, here is their reply:

====================================
> Unfortunately, we will be unable to allow you to list the domain into an account with Sedo. The domain has been blocked from our marketplace
> due to previous violations of our policies.
==================================
Unfortunately our Security and Compliance Department blocked this domain from our services as it was not in accordance with our Terms and Conditions. As such we will be unable to list this domain in your account. We understand your frustration however we are unable to provide you with any further information regarding this decision.

Hi,

You can PM me and I can look into this specific situation. There can be a variety of factors affecting your domain that I will be able to look into for you.

But also keep in mind that Sedo only records unique visits to your parked page. This way, we can reflect a more accurate number of actual "visitors". Any visitor to your parked page that visits your domain on a consecutive basis within a 30 day period will not be recorded as a separate visitor. All clicks and revenue are recorded however.

I have had that happen before. I think it is a matter of them not being sure if the name is still going to have the bad traffic that got it banned before. If you are Sedopro member, you can try contacting your account manager, they may allow you to list it for sale and to not park it. You can also try to PM Sedo on the Sedo thread(http://www.namepros.com/408817-sedo-com-official-thread-15.html#post3269489). They usually have an answer. I would have to say though, most likely you will have to just park this name somewhere else, which is unfortunate. I asked once if there was any way to tell if a name is banned from Sedo and my manager said that you could email them before buying, but that was about it. Also, always do you best to make sure to check that it does not have suspicious traffic or records of abuse on Google.

Good luck!

That is unfortunate. I can understand why they do it, otherwise spammers/scammers could just change the Whois and list it again. However, if you can prove the domain legitimately changed hands (escrow, paypal statement, etc.) they should be willing to lift the ban imo.

Sedo Question

Hey, i have a doubt, can someone help me. On sedo, i recieved an offer for a domain, say 100 bucks.

Now if i counter the offer with an offer of 200, and the buyer offers 200( he accepts), then do i have to sell it to him or can i start an auction with that(200) as the reserve price?

Yes, you have to sell, you can't put it to the auction anymore.

You can cancel a winning offer at any time on Sedo ...

I was winning bidder for a Sedo auction.
I got this message:

------------
Bid Thread for *********.com:
Date:
Bidding:
Offer:

01/14/09 Desired Price: Make Offer
01/14/09 Your Offer: 60 USD View
01/17/09 Auction started
01/21/09 Auction Closed

Information about the Seller

You have the following options:
Delete Bid Thread
You can delete this course of negotiation from list of your offers :

------------
After the last line there is a button to click to delete the negotiations.

I will go trough with the auction, of course.
It is clearly built in the Sedo system that You can pull out as a bidder.

How to start and auction on Sedo ?

Two weeks ago I've decided to sell some domains on Sedo.com, and I've listed them and set a minimum offer on these domains. Until now I've purchased domains from Sedo by using FreshDrop. For example I bought a few LLLL domains, and I was using their filters to see those domains. Now the websites I want to sell are again some LLLL domains, but when I'm using the Freshdrop filters my listed domains aren't showing, and I wanted to know why ...maybe someone can help me.

Thanks !

In the sale contract of a domain at sedo, it's written:

[...]
"Upon request, the seller will issue the buyer with an invoice or a receipt of the purchase price"
[...]

Where can we find a sample of that "invoice" or "receipt"? How to calculate it, with or withous Sedo's fee?

Thanks in advance for answering.

Please contact your transfer agent or the seller named on the payment request for information regarding the specific transaction. The invoice would be issued from the seller for your records, and would specific to that seller and that transaction. Sedo only issues the payment request as we are the intermediary party.

You can easily send a domain to auction if someone places an offer for one of your domains on their site. If you push to auction, then the domains starts at that offer and acts as if the reserve has been met at that price.

If you have a really premium one word domain, you can also request that the name go into auction manually.

Otherwise, you cannot push any domain that does not receive any interest.

FreshDrop.net only reads domain names that are On Auction at Sedo from my understanding.

11.5 Million (so Sedo claims) are listed on Sedo and that would greatly slow down the FD tool. So not all domain names are in FD's DB, just live on auction domains.

Anyone finding the new 2 click landers seem to generate a lower EPC than 1 click?

I am finding, however, with 2 click landers my CTR has increased. Probably due to the fact that you can input 20 keywords specificly targeted to the traffic, that might not have a single keyword category, rather than just 10.
