Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas! Happy Holidays!

Always,
Keith
(on behalf of Sedo)

Hello,

Sedo closed my account and I don't no why. I don't really care about the parking program. What i am interested in is selling my domain. I already sold one with them and had no problem. I have near 100 domains for sale there before they close my account. Emailed them and no answer. What can I do.

It seems useful - shows domains blocked/banned by Sedo , or their ad providers , plus any you have sold, and any moved to other accounts (which you may own/not have owned)

A very useful housekeeping and security feature IMO.

Are you sure about this? Mine does not show the names that have been blocked/banned by Sedo since I have been with them. It only shows names that I have deleted from my account or sold to other people on Sedo.

410 Uniques, 92 clicks and $2.44 Revenue? How does that work? I guess I could give my 2 cents worth, but the PPC speaks for itself.

ppc

ppc went down 95% in the last month

I moved my entire portfolio elsewhere.
It takes just 2 clicks! :kickass:

How is sedo dealing with people who make offers, then never pay-up?

Maybe have a 50 non refundable deposit on account to make offers?

I know they don't want to kill business but people who do this, aren't going to buy either way.

As well I have noticed ppc payouts have been dropping at sedo, I guess its the same industry wide.

Is that for one name or for your whole portfolio at Sedo? I have various names that perform like this on Sedopro, but the majority perform significantly better. The figures you quote look surprisingly like my whole portfolio at Parked, Namedrive, and Trafficz. I have stated before that Sedopro outperforms on a majority of my names, so that is no secret. I also should mention that I have a decent amount of international traffic and adult names. Those types of names actually seem to be performing better at Sedopro these days than my business/technology/medical names at many other companies.

I will give my stats from Parked which has seen the biggest earnings decline for me over the past 2 months. Stats from 4/04:
758 uniques, 73 clicks, RPM $4.29, CTR 9.63%, EPC $.04, $3.25 Total Earnings

These stats are for my whole portfolio at Parked and are the worst numbers I have seen to date. I should also point out that I got clicks on a total of 33 names that day, with an average of $.04 EPC, not just one or two.

I guess the point is that everyone's portfolio performs differently at different companies. If you are unsatisfied with the earnings of a name, then you need to move it elsewhere. If it does no better anywhere else, then that is probably what the name is going to earn, and we just have to live with it. I had been trying to wait on moving some of my names out of the other companies and back to Sedopro, but I have waited a while now, and the performance is still degrading by the day.

Finally, I have seen a drop in my earnings at Sedo, as has everyone else, it is just not as bad for me there as it has been at other companies.

Currently, they close the person's account. I believe that is all that they do. A deposit would be a good idea and I have heard it suggested before. Hopefully, Sedo implements something like this soon.

I just rechecked - there are definately some blocked domains in there , I know because I didn't know about them, if you see what I mean - but , yep , I think there are some more that are not shown too.

I spoke to my rep. there and he tells me it is a manual process to compile a list of blocked domains (so I can move them to yahoo etc.). Which frankly I do not believe for a second - namedrive maintain this list and it is very useful - not least to remind you to drop them next renewal ;)

(Come on Sedo send me my list of blocked name please - I suspect you think your customers know which they are - I can assure you I have no idea what my 99% of my domains were used for before I regged them as I do not reg for PR/residual traffic reasons. There could be valuable domains in there which may be dropped and overlooked because of apparently zero traffic)

Hi dax44,

This tool will show you domains which have been removed from your account for any reasons, by you, or by Sedo. However, it will not make a distinction for the reason for removal.

Hi domainman101,

We have a variety of steps we take, but most of the time the buyer will either end up with his certification revoked indefinitely, or his account closed. Depending on the severity of the situation, we may also limit access to other services. If you have more questions about this or ideas for improving the process, please email [email protected].

Take care.

Always,
Keith

Funny games

SEDO is playing funny games with domainers.
They indicate that they'll play fair & that they'll pay fair.
Well, neither one is true.
We follow ppc payments from SEDO for 10 keywords for the last 2+ years.

SEDO starts by paying 0.50 or $1 per click, and when you move your entire portfolio tp SEDO the ppc goes down to 0.5c to 2c

Mine only shows names that I have removed by hand and names that I have sold. It does not show any of the names that I know have been blocked by you guys. I just sent an email to my account manager, so you don't have to look into my account in particular, but I thought that I would point out the error in the new system, because it might be affecting other accounts as well.

did they explain why? I am having some problems at the moment - dropping income - although I think the Google feed they receive is 'under pressure' what with the pending legal cases and all.

I've just moved a few domains to Sedo to give them a try. Anyone know how often they update their view & clicks stats?

Hello,

I have just been wondering how to pronounce "Sedo"? I have always said "Sea-dough" but recently thought that it may be "See do". Any insight?

Thank you :)
