Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas! Happy Holidays!

Always,
Keith
(on behalf of Sedo)

Domain is already sold, pushes to sedo, pushed to buyer and payment received. Everything is done. Now suddenly sedo wants me to create an invoice.

This is the email they send me:
Dear Erdinc,

A status update with the subject of "Invoice Request" has been posted regarding the transfer of xxxxxxxx.com.

Please login through the link below or select the domain from your Transfer Center.

https://sedo.com/member/transfer/overview.php?id=xxxxxxxx

To contact your Transfer Specialist, please do not reply to this message, but log into your Sedo account and submit a message.

Best regards,

Elsa Stivalet
Domain-Transfers

When I login to my sedo account, inside the transfer centre section I can see this:
Invoice Request
The buyer has submitted payment to our escrow and has requested an invoice including VAT (if applicable). Please create an invoice with the full amount xxx EUR and upload it as a PDF within the Transfer Documents section or send us the invoice by fax to +49 221.34030.109.

Kindly note that all sales prices negotiated through the Sedo Domain Marketplace are considered to be the end prices for the Buyer including the VAT valid for the Seller.

Please issue the invoice with the following details:

... name of buyer
... address of buyer

If you pay the Sedo transfer commission, you will receive an invoice from us once the transfer has been completed.

Have you ever had something like this?
What happens if I don't send them an invoice?
I'm not interested in invoices or sharing my name and address with the buyer.

We need a dislike button if we want to refuse the offer.

It looks like the invoice request supposed to happen after the buyer sends the fund to sedo. If at that stage they told me about creating an invoice I would have said cancel the sale.

How come sedo is so messed up they are asking me for an invoice after the sale is completed?

Flightfool,
The problem is they didn't want an invoice during the transfer. If they did , I wouldn't have pushed my domain to sedo. Now the buyer has my domain, I have the funds and everything is completed. Then suddenly the buyer decides they need an invoice and sedo very annoyingly thinks it is all right for them to ask me for an invoice after everything is completed.

Have not got mine yet as well, their terms are to pay by the 15th but they have spoiled us by usually paying by the 10th - which was easy to get used to :)

funny, I just got paid today, usually been getting paid on the 8th or so... but all is good.

Sedo doesn't close a completed auction even after I have send them the invoice they requested. The transfer agent is useless and never shows up. The customer service is even more useless as all they do is to forward my tickets to the transfer agent who never responds to anything. So, I have a closed auction that is not actually closed and it shows under my "running auctions".

Got paid on the 13th of May.

Question and hoping someone here (or, perhaps, from SEDO) can shed some light on it. I just listed a few domains for sale there and, just to stay abreast of any "changes" etc, I clicked on the FAQ box about "do I have to respond to every offer?" and it states:
Yes. We ask that you respond to all offers you receive. Sedoโ€™s system will send out periodic reminders of pending offers, including new offers and those you have not yet responded to.
.... now, I could understand if it was "We highly recommend it because...." or similar. But, to answer a "do I HAVE to" question with "YES", but followed up by the milder "we ask that you..." seems confusing. BUT, even less clear to me now is how long an unanswered bid is actually binding:

on the Buy domains info page it states:
Make an offer. Got your sights set on a domain? The easiest way to express interest is by making an offer. Many domains are open to negotiation, while some are listed with fixed prices for a quick option. Please note that all offers are binding for 7 days .
..... HOWEVER, under the Why do I have to make a counter-offer before I can cancel negotiations? FAQ for sellers it states that
We ask that all sellers and buyers respond to any offers they receive in order to give the other party a range to work within. Should the negotiation thread remain inactive for 30 days, it will expire and be cancelled automatically by our system.

Once the bid thread is no longer active, you will then be able to edit your domainโ€™s offer page settings, including price and sales options.
. So, what is up with the 30 days of "reminders" if a buyers offer is only valid for 7 days? Is this new or always been this way and I am just noticing now? What happens if a seller "accepts" an offer made over 7 days ago after one of those reminders? Perhaps I am just being too particular and isn't an issue, but I was curious about it..... SP

Sedo's incompetence costs me 114USD in currency exchage.

Here are screenshots from sedo and paypal:
http://i49.tinypic.com/2llez44.gif

I live in the UK. Naturally I entered my bank details inside my sedo panel as a UK bank. I don't have any other option anyway. Just because I entered a UK bank sedo assumes I want to get paid in GBP for my paypal account as well, which I don't.

I sold a domain for $2000. Sedo's commission is $200 which leaves me $1800. I want to get paid with paypal. But instead sending over the $1800 via paypal, sedo decides they must change the currency to GBP and at the end I end up with less money, which is $1686 according paypal.

If I was getting paid to my bank account I would understand the currency change but I use paypal and paypal doesn't mind whatever currency it is. Sedo doesn't let me set my preferred currency.

I'm losing $114 for nothing. This is totally rubbish. And it is a lot of money to lose.

Sedo's currency rate sucks as well. According sedo:

Current exchange rate: 0.66956
1800 USD = 1205 GBP

Inside my Paypal account (you have to login to see that section) I calculate 1205 GBP. It makes $1686.

1800-1686= $114 lost for nothing, thanks to sedo.

The domain sedosucks.com is taken by sedo. They knew people would want to buy that domain from the beginning. Do you guys have any alternative suggestion for a sedo sucks website name?

This is what they said:
Sales Proceeds:

* If your country of residence is the United States (US) or Canada: you will receive payments in USD, regardless of the address of your bank account.
* If your country of residence is the United Kingdom (UK): you will receive payments in GBP, regardless of the address of your bank account.
* If your country of residence is in the European Union (EU) (excluding the UK): you will receive payments in EUR, regardless of the address of your bank account.
* If your country of residence does not come under one of the above categories you will receive payments in the currency which was used during the negotiations, regardless of the address of your bank account.

They are really annoying. I have just received the payment in my paypal. They have send me 1205 GBP. Paypal says it makes 1686 USD.

I have paid 314 USD to sedo for a 2000 USD sale. This is %15.7 of the sale price.

This transfer took 13 days because of late paying buyer. I told sedo 10 days ago on 13.th that I want to get paid in USD. The transfer agent Mira didn't arrange that. They also made the survey link non-functional. I can't give feedback.

Before they send me the payment I called their Germany office and spoke to a useless customer service person who said she will talk to a manager.

If these guys are getting away with %15.7 commission and we domainers just sit here and watch, it is our fault.

Where should I move all my domains?

I have exactly the same problem. I always change the payment method to Bank Account immediately after an agreement has been reached to prevent this unnecessary loss of funds. I change my parking payout threshold to EUR 1000 at the same time as I found out that my bank charges are extortionate to convert EUR to GBP for small sums and sods law dictates that they would pay parking revenue at exactly this time lol. Once the domain payment has been released, I change the payment method back to PayPal and the parking payout threshold to EUR 20 so I can continue to receive timely parking payments by PayPal.

Do you know any simple sedo alternative, that allow euro payments (and without parking if possible) ?
With a little and simple cart for the buyer (with fixed prices).

In the event this is monitored by SEDO I have a sale which the buyer states they paid for earlier this week but the SEDO transaction status only states that SEDO has sent three letters asking if the buyer intended to pay - no indication the buyer has paid. I tried asking for clarification in my SEDO account but have not yet heard a response...

Sedo Retail Auction selection process is a bit whacked. sandwichbags.net is approved but mobilecomputer(s).us is not? (no reserve)

Is .us that far gone?

Anyone else notice that the "Related Searches" links on sedo parked pages randomly get replaced by unrelated searches even if you have already spend alot of time manually setting them all?

Its been doing it for the last couple of weeks

WTH ?? :tri: Is it just a glitch or is sedo testing a new provider ?
