Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas! Happy Holidays!

Always,
Keith
(on behalf of Sedo)

Thanks Paxton and repped :).

I just don't see where it says parked and offer received has a minimum $50 fee. I see non-parked and non-fixed price has a $50 fee. besides that I just see and I quote:

"Listing your domain for sale with Sedo is easy to do and completely free of charge. Why not see what type of offers your domains would fetch? You only pay a 10% fee to cover the secure transfer and escrow if the domain is sold at Sedo"

Below that I see:

Listing a domain for sale - Free

Buying/Selling a domain on Sedo

Parked and Fixed Priced Domains with a category ICategory I Top Level Domains - Sales price, no add. fees - 10% of sales price, no min. fee

Non-Parked and Non-Fixed Priced Domains with a category ICategory I Top Level Domains - Sales price, no add. fees - 10% of sales price, min. $50

I'm not sure if I fall in the last category but that should really read "Non-Parked or Non-Fixed Priced Domains"

Not happy at all with the SEDO service if the fee is $50 minimum on names parked with them (for a long time) and offer received. If this is indeed the case, I hope the buyer contacts me with my whois info so I can use another service. Hopefully this isn't the case and someone responds from Sedo.
This is indeed the case. I recently received a $60 offer on a domain that's been parked with Sedo for several months. Their fee? $50 :| The potential buyer is not prepared to negotiate and I don't want to risk an auction on this domain, so no sale. I believe that only domains listed with a fixed 'Buy Now' price qualify for the 10% no minimum fee.

Blitz, this might help you as well as others confused by the new fee structure: Sedoโ€™s New Fee Structure Explained | mwzd.com

Basically the fee is 10% only if both these conditions are satisfied: 1. Parked at Sedo 2. Offered at fixed price. For all other conditions, the minimums apply.

code_geass - it depends on which home page you ordered it for, sedo has at least five i think - us / uk / german / french / spanish etc...

Thanks for the info and help Samit and Wordsworth. I'll counter at $500 to make it a 10% fee and see what happens

Any representative of Sedo here?

AGAIN i received an offer at Sedo, and AGAIN i will not sell because of stupid minimal commission.
I received offer of 200 โ‚ฌ for .cn domain, and i would accept that, but after Sedo commission i would get 50โ‚ฌ !!! That is 25% of MY money from MY domain! Any sense here???

Already had some offers on other domains which i turned down because of the same reason. For one .eu domain i received offer of 90 โ‚ฌ, and for .eu is minimal commission 50โ‚ฌ so i would get only 40โ‚ฌ so i turned down that offer too!

Really nice job Sedo, i dont get it. Do you relize that you loose money too?! With 10% it would be much more sales there. I dont know why they changed that at all!

Same here. Had an offer for $200 which I would have accepted had the commission been reasonable. Countered because of the extremely high fee and lost the sale. Tried to contact Sedo a couple of days ago and never received a reply. I had been extremely happy with Sedo up until this point and started moving my domains away from them today.

I also countered before and lost my sales, now countered too, and still wait for response, but i doubt that i will sell.
I would like that i havent receive an offer at all, much rather than this!

I've just sold my very first domain at Sedo, but I have no idea on how to go through with the whole process.

Hope I'll get some help and tips from my NameBros :)

Congrats, now wait for sedo to send you an email that the seller has paid.

Keep in mind that sedo doesn't send required push info via email, you have to login to your account and goto 'my sedo' > 'transfer center' for the required info for push etc after the payment receipt is confirmed by sedo.

Good Luck

Thanks, Samit. Is escrow system used automatically? Is there any way the buyer might scam me in the transaction?

Sedo is by far the worst their rep stopped trying to keep customers a long time ago.

Yes.

No, as long as you do what Samit told you ..

Same here I just got an offer of 100 Euro on a domain and 100 Euro isn't to bad for it(LLL.info). So I was going to sell it until I realized Sedo got half of the money...

I wish I had of kept track of these changes. I will now be removing most of my domains from Sedo.

Once someone agrees to buy a domain, how many days does Sedo give them to complete the payment, before he will be officially considered a 'non-paying buyer'?

How can you tell if your domain is being listed on Sedo?

Hi Guys.

Today I purchased my first domain! makemusics dot com.

I am hoping to flip this on Sedo and on recommendation I went over and signed up with Sedo.

I followed the steps to list the domain and filled in all the relivent details. It shows up in the My Sedo section under My domains but does that mean that it's actually listed in the marketplace? If someone could please let me know that would be great!

Many thanks in advance!

I just received a low ball offer on a domain I have listed, why don't you people give us the option to simply void/cancel nego. right off the bat, the offer doesn't deserve a counter offer, waste of time as far as I'm concerned.
