I received a low $xxx offer at Afternic for graddeletetv.com. I registered the tv.com version to protect my graddelete.tv domain.

Should I reply to the buyer by introducing the .tv version and ask for low $xxxx for both domains or would that scare the buyer off? Any other sugggestions of how to respond?

Oh, and the buyer also signed up to Afternic's Buyer Membership via a click on my parking link 2 minutes prior to making this offer so I know he is somewhat serious.

I would let them know that you have that domain as well and let them know your intentions with it. Otherwise, you could find yourself in a legal battle if they really capitalize on the name and you launch a site on the other domain following their purchase.

I like your strategy. I would tell him that it is a defensive reg.

Thanks SF and Grant for your suggestions.

I just sent the following reply:

Thank you for your offer for GradTV.com. GradTV.com is a defensive registration for Grad.TV and I want to sell them together.

Internet and TV are becoming as one and the .TV space is the perfect vehicle for this.

Grad.TV and GradTV.com are excellent domains and I'm considering offers in the $xxxx range for the pair of them.

I look forward to your counter-offer.

I wonder what the buyer will reply with, although I don't have high expectations.
