Hi Guys,

Yesterday, I won the bid of a LLLL.com on ebay. The owner has transferred it, however he keeps complaining he should not have sold it. He thought it would sell for more. The appraisal says I paid a fair price for it. Should I offer to sell it back to him at abount a 50% profit or hold on for two years and see if I can get 300%-500% return? It's a good LLLL. VVCV.com. If so, is asking for 50% too much?

Thanks, Phil

Phil, quad.com is really a good name and has lots of Google results.

Auctions are always a risk and that's just part of the game, just keep it!!

If you really wanna sell, sell it to me :hehe:

Your talking about oecy.com , its a very nice name and you should keep it imo. according to the current pricing of LLLL.com's you have paid fair price. such names are hard to find so better keep it.Good Luck

Keep it, Keep it, Keep it :imho:

I think the domain is now yours and is no longer his. Do not let your feelings (or his) get in the way. This is a business and try to maximize your profit either to him or to someone else. Don't give him a discount because he is sorry because to him it sold cheaply (He should of put a reserve price on it in the first place). So you can keep domain and wait to see its value increase or sell domain to what you think it is worth now.

Hold on to it. I sold a couple for way under what i would have liked to a couple weeks ago but thats just the risk you run. So it is legally yours and if you want a huge profit just hold on to it for a while and then sell it.

His fault for selling it on ebay, and then 'expecting' it to sell for a high price. Keep it, and tell him to stop crying like a baby.

Hi guys

Well, thanks for the great rush of messages. I quess there is no question of what I will be doing now. "Holding on". Hopefully the rush continues.
Bye the way, do you think It will keep going, if so, how long? Probably a stupid question (unanswerable). How about your best quess.

Thanks, Phil

Best keep the domain prices will rise hence why the seller on ebay wanted the domain back from you.

Hold for as long as you can! No better investments out there right now. I only have 25... but that's 25 more than I would have had I decided not to gamble in August 2007.

if you hadn't won that auction, someone else would have - for even less than what you paid.

Anyone who is going to sell a domain on auction and then try to browbeat a customer into subsidizing the risk they took (with usually quite a bit more upside than downside for the seller in general, if they set up their auction correctly) ... well IMO they deserve to be (politely, but firmly) ignored "henceforth and forevermore" ...

LLLL.com domain values will probably REALLY take off in about 5 to 10 years. The 200% - 500% returns people have been seeing in the last few months are just the tip of the iceberg for these LIMITED SUPPLY / HIGH DEMAND short .com domains. It may be a bit of a rollercoaster along the way, but if you are asking when the best time to sell might be - unless you're plugged into the market in a "day trader" mode - best to just go ahead and reg it up for the next 5 years (a $35 investment on top of whatever you paid) - put it in a vault, and forget about it for the time being. I am quite sure that you will be glad you did.

Yes, agreed. There must be a great temptation for LLLL.com owners to cash in quick and generate some $$$ now, but I dont think this is a flash-in-the-pan investment, these things are like little blocks of gold bullion. Prices will continue to rise for ever and a day. The best time to sell is always tomorrow. My LLLLs will get dusty long before I decide to part with them. A couple might even get developed. Let's not forget, even average quality LLLLs have decent development potential. They're not just for 'domain collectors'.

Lol,

I sold the name to Quimby.

I said it sold for cheap when I emailed him. As soon as you paid I thanked you and immediatley placed the the name in your account. Then I gave you positive feedback saying super fast payment, friendly transaction.

Not once did I say I did not want the sale to go thru, only mentioning I turned down a earlier offer and thought it would go higher. What I did do is thank Phil for the bid.

Actually he was the only person that bid on it as I did not want it to go for less than $150. and that is the price I started the bid at.

I never asked to buy it back!

Phil, your first contact to me says you don't know why YOU paid so much for it and don't have a clue why you made the bid, lol.

Do you want to see all my email correspondance Phil?.

Maybe you just want confirmation the name is worth $150.

Well seems most agree that name sold at a fair price.

Phil, I assummed a couple paragraphs telling you I had a $500. offer from a phyciatry company was a good heads up for you to know you got a good deal and with the information that maybe you could contact the person and sell it to them if that is your choice. My intention was not to have you give the name back to me.

I did mention the name has a great end user appeal as I am in the plant growing business and the name stands for the recessive gene in plants. Merely saying that as I was going out of my way to help you know some points about the name. I am sorry you read into my helping business style, to give a hand up to you, that I wanted the name back.

Where in the heck did you get the idea I wanted the name back?.
