Just wanted to add something I missed, after a very good April (first 3 weeks; during which I recovered to profit from low sales in first quarter), then everything went completely silent for 30 days.

So this is my first sale after one month's time. (Holding 5k names in case you'd ask)

I am not worried though. Such fluctuations are common with domains and I've had that several times in the past. But I've also seen this thread going pretty silent-ish for the same time period. Just FYI.

Afternic BIN, hold time 10 months. Closeouts buy ($20 total).

This sale came as an rather unpleasant surprise; as I've realized it has been significantly underpriced by accident (my error). Such domains are rare at closeouts. Anyway, the price was likely intended for another domain.

The half full part of the glass being: Need some money in the bank today too, and there are still more domains out there than buyers. Oh and I still have too many in stock (barely went under 5k names).

This is a short and nice domain, but I don't normally invest in hardware domains. This was short enough so I decided to take the plunge.

It didn't sell in the first year (higher price); so I renewed it and set a price to be sure it gets sold before expiry ($999). Took a couple months then it sold.

I've had this domain since 2020 and decided I won't renew once more (did I say trying to trim the fat)? Anyway priced to go and it sold.

It's a well known aviation term, I sold it for $1,000 at Afternic, 2 weeks ago.

I bought this name on January 1st 2023. GD Closeouts, paid for it $5 + renewal. When it landed in my account, I sent two e-mails to the .net owner, offering it for $500, but I got no reply.

Listed the domain at Dan, Afternic and SEDO. About a month ago, I've changed almost all my names to NS3 and NS4. Since then, the domain had 2 stalled negotiations, but the third one was successful and it sold.

And the buyer is the .net owner. He didn't liked my $500 email offer, instead he paid 1k at Afternic

So I assumed he would like to upgrade this. After negotiation, sold for $1,275. It was handreg for $1 promo at NetSol year 2019. Took 4 years before an end user got it.

Bought Feb. 2022 at GoDaddy auctions for $72. So about $81 total cost.

Sold December 2022 for $3102 over 6 months. Payments all on time and without issue. While I don't have that many, all of my payment plans have worked out well.

This is a good name. I'd probably price it higher today if I had it back.

P.S. Don't ask me why I bought this domain. And even spent more than the minimal $5 on it....?! I really have no idea why. Good that at least it pays for other renewals.

Weirder even: Since then, for unexplainable reasons I was always 100% sure this particular domain will sell at discount before expiry, and it did. Notably, have far better names that don't.

Bought November 2019 at GoDaddy Auction for $22, plus registration. Three renewals brought total price to $61. About 3.5 years total hold time.

Listed on BrandBucket July 2020.

Sold on Brandbucket for list price of $10,605 on Friday 5/26. Received the payout after Escrow and the Memorial Day holiday on Wednesday morning via Paypal with no charge. After commissions, I received just under $8k.

Brandbucket has done pretty well for me. I had just over 50 domains listed there and have sold 3 in the last year and a half. This sale motivated me to raise the prices on most of my domains. We'll see how it goes. In my Brandbucket dashboard shows my stats as follows.

Based on stories I read about sales numbers on Brandbucket and other brandable market places as self-reported by domainers, I'm surprised that I rank this high in these categories. It is a good reminder to me to take most of what I read online about anything, but especially domains, with a grain of salt.
