This thread is a central location to report domain name sales of any dollar amount.

As much information as you can include about the transaction is welcome, but at a bare minimum please include the domain name(s), the sale price, and whether you were the seller.

Good luck with your sales!

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
AfternicAfternic
Domain name: nwlv dot com
Sales Venue: Namejet Auction
Sales prices: $122
Purchase venue: Namepros
Purchase Price: $135

Was very surprised the closing price ended below my cost price because about 30 persons indicated interest in bidding for the domain.

It appears the number of people that indicates interest in an auction may not determine it's closing price.

Next time,put a reserve price.

Thanks, I deliberately left reserve. It seems to discourage some people and I just needed some fund for a huge renewal list moping at me.

I did some outbound on it and only had one interested buyer. Couldn't get more so thought why not take the money and move on...

Dont report sales often, but thought this one was a good one for all to see.

There are so many "what a domain has to be" to be valuable posts....and # of words seems to be a killer in many discussions. (e.g. 10 letters that make a 3 word name is less valuable than a 14 letter long domain made of 2 words.)

# of words (IMO) isn't a concern - in fact, a huge positive in some cases(great short sayings) - it's # of total letters/characters (ext, etc.) that can be tied statistically to visits/clicks/sales.

Anyway, not a big sale but a name most would pass closeouts: Rent My Toy (in COM) on Afternic for $1289 a couple weeks ago.

Good Luck All,
How long did you hold this name?

Congrats!

The Only Thing I Dont Like About SH Is That The Buyer Can Change Their Mind AFTER They Have Purchased The Domain. You Get The "sold domain" Email And Contact From SQ Then If The Buyer Changes Their Mind Then The Sale Is Cancelled. AND They Can Even Cancel If The Buyer Has Made Their Payment Already (at least i know this to be true with an installment plan).

Just Wanted To Add That The Buyer Also Gets Refunded. So You Dont Even Receive Partial Payment Unlike Other Platforms Using Installment Plans.

Sorry To Steer Slightly Off Track But I Thought This Info May Be Of Interest To Any Of You Using The SquadHelp Marketplace.

How did DAN handle the transfer on a 1 day old domain ? Did they pay you right after the sale or later ?
