Sold 2 .info domains over at flippa. Not sure if I can disclose the names I still need to learn how that works. The sales were for $23 and $24 about 3 weeks ago.

I picked them up through a drop so there wasn't to much profit on this one!

I had the domain for about two weeks, when I contacted end-users... who were all directed to Afternic to make an offer. A couple days later inquiries, and offers came through... A few days later, after negotiations, the domain sold.

So, I had the domain for slightly over three weeks before flipping it.

I'm really impressed with the service at Afternic... everything is smooth... very fast payment. Excellent agents-all round. Good support. They really do a great job.
did you include a link to the make offer page on afternic? I thought one couldn't do that as it might end up in spam folder of the recipient?

Please explain.

So it seems I really am starting to crack it...

LogCabinHolidaysUK.com

Hand Reg'd for $1.17 last week, sold today for $340

Contacted the buyer via email and had a reply within an hour, I dropped my price by $60 after a little negotiation but still happy with a quick profitable flip.

I sent around 40 emails (similar to my last sale) and just had the one reply (similar to my last sale), it's weird how it's just finding that one person with a bit of interest!

PMs.. Pms... there are some questions to which I have no answer, some personal, and some whose approach is not fitting at all.

I'll answer those which I can, here.

What's my opinion about a domain that you may have, and what you should do to get "5 figures " for that name? Because it's a PM doesn't mean I'm going to be unrealistic and give a "friendly" appraisal... and the appraisal section is good for that. :)

That said, if the domain itself is not appealing, and you need to explain why the domain "has value", you probably should not bother end-users with such a domain. I wouldn't. Can the domain alone, without a soppy story/sales pitch, grab the attention of the end-user? If yes, go ahead. If not... why have it?

Google, and other search engines is where you will find end-users...

Also, details about the buyer and his bids-that I cannot share, and that applies to PMs as well.

Do I have a template for "bringing in sales"? I actually don't. It's a short email specific to the domain, alerting the end-users that it is for sale.
I have been asked by a few people if I can send them my "template"... but truth is, even If I had one, and sent it to those people via PM/email, I may as well post it here, and that takes originality out of the email. I'll try and cover what I feel works, below:
  • Get to the point.
  • Be professional.
  • Does your domain speak for itself? Does it need to be explained why it has value? Don't write a sad story about why the domain has value.
  • Remember: If the person cannot see the value that you see in having the domain, he is not your buyer.
  • Keep it short and simple.

Don't include links to past sales/similar sales. Don't have unnecessary information . Very spammy. I read some members do this...why?
Don't include links to appraisal sites, e.g. Estibot... I read some members do this too...
If you decide to direct end-users to a Sedo, or Afternic sales/offer page, then don't paste other links for Escrow.com, estibot appraisal page (which is unprofessional)... this could make your emails be considered as spam.
Links must not be used unnecessarily. It doesn't add credibility to your words... it makes you look like a spammer.
Don't be a pest -one email is sufficient. They didn't respond? Well-truth is,they don't have to at all. They can blacklist your email address or domain if you become a pest.

In my case, I inserted a link to afternic offer page, (the same as people have said they have done with Sedo pages), that is allowed, and as far as emails go, it isn't considered spam, just as inserting an instagram link in the email would not be considered spam

(Please note, don't send links to parked pages (whether it has a sales banner or not)-this is not what I am doing. This can get you banned for parking.)

The number of links you insert in your email, could have you email get recognized as spam,as explained above. There could be other reasons related to your ISP or host, etc that could be the reason for emails not reaching the inbox.
Wow wow wow... Thanks. I emailed some people for my domain and I got 5 visits to that page. I think they got confused and left as there was no means to make offer and sedo isnt helping much in that regard. I will contact them and include a link to my make offer page.

Thanks.

Great Sales. I hope Davy Jones, the captain of Flying Dutchman, isn't much upset about your selling off his ship name. You didn't sell it to Jack Sparrow, did you? :)

Fun apart, were these BIN sales or some neg?
