While Registering a Domain Name for .Com Extension , is it advisable to Register the Name and its Variations with other Extensions too in order to limit the chances of Competitors to register them.
But then it becomes too expensive during renewals, if you are not able to flip your .Com in time.

You might consider registering common misspellings in .com, if you're using the name or it has type-in traffic.

I've done it for a couple of my existing dot com domains when the extensions are dirt cheap, but will likely drop most when renewals are due. They may come in handy for back-linking and SEO promotion.

I don't understand what you wanna know here, Let me explain, I am a business with a name "xxxxxx" and the .com is not available so I go and buy .net or .co or .org. The owner of the .com can sell the domain to anyone he wishes there is no link.
