Hello,

You guys were so helpful with my last post regarding Flash v HTML SEO, thought I'd try another question!

If I have a site that is ranked on 1st page Google, and would like that site re-directed:

1. What is best method to do so?

2. What is affect on ranking?

I'm aware of 301 re-direct, but don't know of Google's response to it.

Obviously if you had a site ranked #1 for Churches in KY you couldn't re-direct to a casino in Vegas...This would be for 2 sites within the same industry.

Other options? Just a link, directing visitors to the site you originally wanted to re-direct to?

Thanks again - I really appreciate it!

A 301 is fine. It's normally used if you change domain names on a site or want to redirect a misspelling.

301 means "permanently moved", so the domain that's redirected will be removed from the search results.
