Question on domain name searching and extensions
When I use Google Key Word Tool and put it on exact and let’s say I search “Billy Bobs” and my results are 1500 Global Monthly Searches.
What would everyone consider a good number of global monthly searches to consider buying a domain name?
I get it if my search returns 50,000 Global Monthly Searches but the truth is those domain name are so rare or almost impossible. But if you did a search and your results were 500 Global Monthly Searches, would this be considered a good name to consider or do most domainers hold out for a domain name that has a minimum of let’s say 5000 global searches?
My other question is this. I have found some domain names that have let’s say 2500 global searches and the only name that is available is .biz.
Example:
FIX MY CREDIT REPORT has 1600 Global Searches and the .biz .me and .mobi are available for this one. Now my understanding is .biz and .mobi are more geared for .biz meaning a business and .mobi meaning make your site very mobile friendly.
So if .biz means what it means and you wanted to take this domain name and create a business built off the domain name itself wouldn’t this be a great buy, decent amount of monthly searches and you’re creating a business off the name?
Also if the Competition is already at high does this mean the odds of my new site landing on the first page from a Google search pretty much out the window or am I confused on the phrase “Competition”?
I know everyone wants the .com behind their name but is it really that important anymore and if it is does this mean any domain name that has an extension other than .com completely worthless?
Thank You
