Is it a .com?

What does LexiconAlpha mean?

Why would anyone search for it?

What possible end user could it have?

I know a lot of people scoff at me having not sold anything to an end user yet but I am biding my time, I am basically waiting until the market turns but I personally like service or product names in .info; such as InjuryLaw, BudgetFlights, Hairdressing and other such names...(all of which I own)

I know in time that the tables will turn and as fewer domains become available these exact match domains in lesser extensions will gain in popularity.

Your prospective domain, I do not see anything of value there...it has no obvious end-user and I do not see any reason why anyone would ever type it in.

I would move on :)

While "Lexicon Alpha" may have 5400 searches per month you are looking at broad matches (I thought without checking it out properly) which means nothing, switch your viewpoint to EXACT matches and you will see how much of a waste of money it could potentially be :)

If you bought it for $10 registration, I would not even take it off your hands for a hundredth of the price because it is a white elephant; more trouble than it is worth with no upside :)

Looking further into it I would stay away because this may be a trademark, that in itself sends up warning flags :)

Agree with Sparhawke....

I Googled it and it looks like the name of a commercial music product

which could mean problems for you if you register it.

Take your time and don't rush into purchasing domains. I would advise you to spend a few weeks to months reading the forums and researching past sales to get an idea of what sells. It will save you money in the long run.

I agree with the "read first" approach. I registered a lot of crappy names up to now,(I started "domaining" this month last year) and I have only sold 4 names totaling $1850 and maybe spent about $800 or more in domains that are most likely bound to drop.

I've learned some but still have much to go and I would advise you read and then read some more on this forum before purchasing a domain. Check out namebio.com, dnjournal.com, and the reported sales section on this forum for recent and past domain sales.

Also watch auctions running in real time. See what happens to most domains in auctions (here, other sites like 4.cn), and which domains get bids. End-user sales reported in DNJournal and Namebio are great for figuring out the "high" end of what a domain is worth, but you should also see some cold hard reality for how "liquid" most domains really are. Some domains are liquid, certain numerics, LLLL.com's, CCC.com, dictionary words, etc. You will quickly see what is viable and what is not for resale.

Don't register that domain name. It is worth nothing.

There is really one simple rule to follow to start.
Register product or service GENERIC EXACT domain names with mid to high competition and EXACT monthly searches. All these data is available in Google Keyword Tool.

for .com a few hundred, above 1000 exact searches for .net and org, above several thousand searches for info. Forget other extensions (at the beginning)

And if you don't find some to register, then BUY from others.
It is better to spend 100 dollars and buy 1 good name from someone, then spending 100 dollars for 10 worthless names which were available to register

What i mean with exact generic product or service names?

LightBulbs.com is an exact generic product name

SeoService.com is a an exact generic service domain name

Lexiconalpha is a madeup name combining two words.
And it is a product from the Company LEXICON. (ttademark for musical products)

Lexicon Alpha is an USB audio interface and that is why 5000 people are looking for it each month. But YOU can't gain anything from these people, because then you would have the domain name of a famous companys trademark in your domain name.

So basically there is no one looking for this term, other than products from the company LEXICON and the USB device from them.

So you are playing with fire.
STAY AWAY FROM TRADEMARKS
