AdWords competition vs. Global Monthly Searches

Hello,
I'm still new to the domains deal, although this is not my first post here.
I've been told two important things to look for when buying a domain are AdWords Competition, and [exact] Global monthly searches. both of them are determined using Google AdWords keyword tool.
My question is which of them should I pay more attention to?
For example, if a domain has 0.89 Competition, but only 12 [exact] global monthly searches,
and another domain has 0.2 Competition, but 140 [exact] global monthly searches, which should I prefer? (if both are sold for the same price)

Also, how important is it to look for [exact] global monthly searches, rather than global monthly searches? (just to clarify, I add a space in the Google AdWord tool query, which is not part of the domain, for example if the domain is justanexample.com - I search for just an example. Is it correct?

Exact search shows you how many people typed in that same keyword.

[keyword 1] is a exact search and if use a broad it would count "Cool keyword 1", "Keyword 1 coolness", "simple keyword 1", and so on. Now that been said phrase search it just the count of how many times the keyword is display in phrases.

Any one feel free to correct me.

Now on the side of the competition. High, Medium and Low means how many advertisers there is for that keyword. Meaning a keyword with high competition would have more advertisers paying to get clicks. On the other hand a low competition means there is not many advertisers paying to get clicks.

So very easy, you want high global searches with high competition. The formula:

HGS + HC = A chance at good profit.

Actually, your example is a good illustration of phrase match:

Lets say your kw is "yellow sneakers":

Exact match - searches for "yellow sneakers" and nothing else. No additional words, no variations. *

Phrase match - exact match search count plus searches like "size 10 yellow sneakers", "yellow sneakers with black stripes", "vintage yellow sneakers", "yellow sneakers on sale", "yellow sneakers prices." Like exact match, but with additional words on either or both sides. *

Broad match - all of the above plus "yellow and white sneakers", "yellow striped black sneakers", "yellow running shoes", "gold colored sneakers", "yellow sneaker", "yelow sneakers on sale", "yellow adidas sneakers" ... etc.

Broad match is useful for advertisers but doesn't mean much from a domainer standpoint. Exact match is a metric which most domainers use to assess potential value of a keyword domain.

Phrase match numbers can be more meaningful than exact match for certain keywords - but most domainers don't get into that level of detail when discussing name values and just go by exact match numbers.

* A recent change in Adwords may result in the keyword tool adding in search counts for word stems/variants/misspellings on exact and phrase match. They just tweaked the keyword tool today and I don't think this has been added yet, but I suspect it will happen to keep in sync with the new Adwords options.
