Hey,

I wanna hear opinions please. I have been offered $500 for Pundit - which I won't be taking. How much do you think I should counteroffer??

I will welcome all comments including the "grab the money and run" comments, everyone is entitled to their opinion!!

I have Pundits.TV too, so that should help....am in no particular rush to sell, but what a great feeling to have one of my regges validated.....

It is a beautiful world - the domaining world...luv it!!

Offer them both for something $500-->$1,000.

It may just be me but I think that I would take the money and swap the domain for a discounted premium reg.

It will be tough to get a better offer undeveloped.

Congrats Miller. I would counter with 3800 USD and tell the buyer that you own you own the plural after you have negotiated a number for the singular version, IMO.

Good Luck!

I Like It!!

Thanx SKG,

Here's my thinking, how many resellers/domainers would want Pundit.TV - with only 12,000 OVT...not that many me thinks....there are easier regges out there with higher OVT to appeal to the reseller....

I think more than likely this is going to an end user - who wants to make a go of Pundit.TV as a developed site.....

This being the case, $500 is definately a starting point.....but by no ways a finishing point. I don;t see the sense someoe offering me $500 for the domain, then develop and spend good money because the business idea makes sense, but will not be prepared to spend 5,000 for the domain because the business pla won't allow profits that would cover the $5000 spent to get the domain name of choice....

Like I said I am in no particular hurry to sell.

Aanother point guys, what if I said $750 and its yours...great I have made $750...but if I held out for the $5000 - that is a nice little score for everyone into .TV - it will get a little more publicity out there for all of us....

Unfortunately the publicity from a sale is only of real interest to domainers.

I'd rather see CNN and similar high profile media companies using .tv as their core extension then $100,000 sales.

But that's just me....

Personlly, I wouldn't hold out on this particular domain. The $'s can be better invested elsewhere - .tv offers can be fairly elusive, particularly when the TLD is only an average fit for the domain.

Miller, I would have to agree with Grant. It is true that you that you can hold out but as many of us you have probably many domains to support at the same time. Buyers come and go and sometimes never come or come back, keep that in mind. If you can bump your buyer into the XXXX range you should consider to sell if you have no plans to develop it and as Grant said buy more quality reg fee domains or go for a premium or use the monies towards your Vid. Any .TV sale helps the extension regardless of the sale price IMO. More sales will just justify and increase in demand.

If you have better .tv domains, I would hold. If you plan on buying another better .tv domain, sell and buy. Then that advice would change if you had the ability to develop sites.

Unless the name is self-funded thanks to ppc, unless you have real and effective development plan for it, SELL it.

I agree Millers. You have a big portfolio to handle and a lot I'm sure that you'll drop a few. This is a good opportunity to cover some of those burn't reg fees.

I would gladly sell one of my best domains in order to rationalise my portfolio - my portfolio has too many "what if" domains and at the end of the day you've got to minimisde those losses from bad regs.

Sure, you can't give it away, but make your decision looking at your portfolio as a whole. It might save you a bit of pain in the big scheme of things.

Just a tip, I would delete the name from this thread before the spiders catch it or you might have a buyer with inside knowledge. The first thing I do when I am looking at a name is google it!

You might have to PM a mod to take it out of the heading. (I don't think that you can modify a title line when editing a thread).

Thanks guys....

DotTV....I hear you loud and clear....

I like spiders - they are my favorite insects after maggots!!!!

Seriously though, I took on the possibility that whom ever made the offer may well check out out the forums, could even be a contributer to this thread!!!!!

Bottom line, you are right about me not renewinng a major amount of my regges, I think out of about 70 .TV regges, I will have a portfolio of less than 8 renewals....+ VId.TV which I have already paid for till Sep 2009.

THe fact that I will be gettinng rid of so much top grade garbage ( I wish I had slowed down at the beginning - as you guys had told me too time and again) will be a major weight lifted off my back.....and that in its own right is more of a relief than paying off these bad regges with Pundit.....yeh, its nice if I could get the right amount.....but I am here for the long term and the crap regges have been swept uder the carpet called -"what an absolute idiot".

And if I ever buy another .TV it will definately only be a premium name - why bother anymore with normal reg fees - it does not stack up.....

So , if this thread is being observed by the person who made me this offer on Friday afternoon, first of all, good morning, second of all, are you having a good weekend...??and third of all, I will get back in touch with you on Monday some time and we can discuss the offer in more detail!!

DOTTV, SKG,ARGOS and everyone else - your help on this stuff is invaluable - to take from your own time to help me figure out whats going on in this world...I am indeed most grateful....and will keep you guys updated!! :)

Frankly, I would sell it. $500 is a decent price for that particular .tv at this point. I would reinvest it in some of the $100 or even a $500 premium domain ( discount it first, though ). I would offer $1K for both to the fellow, and if you have pundittv.com, throw that in for some small change as well.

MILLERS,
It basically boils down to 2 things development and speculation. If you have no ideas or plans for developement then the next logical choice would be speculation. If Pundit.TV is a reg fee name then effectivily you have succeeded in the speculation part of it, $500-$35= $465 profit or whatever you negotiate. That could pay you back for some of the bad regs you had made in the past, or you could as said before re-invest it back into another name. IMHO you have already paid the $xxxx for the 60 or so bad names, let them drop and roll this sale back into your .TV portfolio. And btw tell the buyer you have this name covered from all angles (Pundit.tv, Pundits.tv, & pundittv.com) so you need to ask for at least $1200- 1500 for the set. Remember what i told you in PM's why I love domaining so much, theres only one pundit.tv,pundits.tv, & pundittv.com ;)
Take care & Good Luck

Go sell it soon, maybe the buyer change his mind later and you will have a hard time seeking a buyer interested in giving this much amount.

I have to agree. We all hope each inquiry is the 1000 x Reg Fee sale but in reality chipping away and buying up seems to be a better strategy.
Good Luck

I would hold onto pundit. I think it has great potential as a video news station by pundits, find experts in any caregory and have them report the news with the top videocasts coming out on top.

I am of the opinion - and just my opinion only, that someday, hopefully soon, a TV network will take interest in this name, especially when all squatter reges have been protected.

$500 is nice, but it is not what I am looking for from what I believe are quality, .TV ext related regges.

I am ready to wait for an end user here......thats why I regged this name in the first place......whether it be one/five/ten years....

It is interesting to see the varied opinions about this domain. That reflects, I guess, the unease that I have with selling some domains. Are you getting enough? Are you pushing your only customer away? Are you leaving money on the table to a factor of 10? It just seems more difficult to figure out with this extension.
