The National Telecommunications and Information Administration has ruled that private domain name registrations for .us domains will no longer be allowed. Privacy advocates say that the regulatory move is counter-productive; because no safeguards exist to validate domain registration information, registrants seeking anonymity will now most likely simply submit false information, reducing the reliability of the domain registrant database.
