I am new to domaining, just beginning to reach out to potential buyers after having collected a few domains.

I got a potentially interested buyer reply back to my cold email in a few minutes which surprised me. I had emailed the CEO but the reply was from someone else on their team.

The company has a long three word url. They just raised a large venture capital round and I reached out to see if they would have interest in the more brand friendly domain I have.

First question was what is my price.

Three questions which I need advice on:
1. Should I take the quick reply as a sign of high interest?
2. How best should I begin the price discussion without scaring them away or pricing too low?
3. Should I get them to discuss this by phone or stick with email?

Thanks,

K

Hi

1. if they replied via email, then you can negotiate via email.
if they replied and asked for pricing, then it's obvious they have some interest.

still, I think you should have a price in mind, before soliciting potential buyers.

decide what you want for it and be prepared if they accept or walk.

Good Luck!

imo...
