I thought I better get one or two more names out of registerfly
so I initiated a transfer through godaddy...
went to registerfly and unlocked it - whois showed my information...
then I get an email from godaddy confirming the email being
sent regarding a transfer is going to xxx@xxx
which is obviously not me...
this is what the whois is showing on all my domains there that I have
checked so far...of course...it's just the ones I am attempting to transfer

(info removed) contact made - thanks to Kamloop's great detective work!

Now comes the problem...THEY'VE LOCKED IT FOR 60 DAYS!!!!
What the H*ll am I supposed to do now?
it expires on the 18th?

What a bunch of sorry ass crooks!

I contacted ICANN to get some of my domains out of registerfly, so far they've released two of them. I still haven't gotten a response from registerfly and I'm wondering if I'll ever be able to get these domains out. I didn't realize how important some of the domains I had with them are until recently. I hope they do this bulk transfer to another registrar soon, I have some renewals coming up in the next few months and if I lose these domains my hand will be forced to call my lawyer and get the ball rolling.

One of my most important domains that I have with them is a family site with pictures of my son from birth until now. I have other important domains there, but this one is the most important one.

Ok, update...

Godaddy managed to get another transfer release and
when they sent me the transfer request the information had
been changed AGAIN! (I had checked it about 2 hours before
and it was still mine) so I immediatley went to registerfly and changed
just the email, and went back to godaddy and reinitiated the transfer request.
Then I entered all the codes and now it says it's waiting for current
registrar approval.
yay! hopefully!

I literally had to sit right on it and make the changes as I went.
It seems whenever a transfer request is made on a domain
their messed up crooked system at registerfly changes the whois.....

shame shame....

Well, I have been attempting to transfer my one domain with them out. I sent them an email 2 days ago asking about the EPP code, and they havn't responded yet. I also made an attempt to call them, but all their numbers have been disconnected, so I sent them another email. I just hope I can get it out of there.

Is the EPP code not in your whois contact info?
should be at the bottom left side...

what do police/FBI/whatever authorities exist there can do in these cases?

It's not in the whois, and if it was, it probably be the fake one they have on most of the domains RRP.

There still screwing around with mine...Godaddy has been
waiting for them to approve it for transfer for 3 days now.
It just says "pending approval at current registrar"
If they'd stop changing whois info things might happen!

I think there is definetly a need for criminal charges here,
how can they change whois at any time without permission?

and why the hell did the judge give that crook control back?
greasy palms maybe?? :D

That is happening to me right now trying to transfer a name to godaddy I bought. Its at another registra.

This is what godaddy says -

A request to transfer has been submitted to the domain's Registry. The Registry will contact the current Registrar to make a final verification of the transfer. At present we are waiting on them to respond to this request. Some Registrars will try to verify requests of this kind before accepting them. Be sure to respond to any correspondence from your current Registrar in a timely manner or they may hold the domain. However, if the Registrar does not respond for a period of 5-7 days, the Registry will release the domain to us. This is what happens with many Registrars, so it may be a few days before the transfer is complete. Once Go Daddy has been informed of the outcome we will let you know.

Another registrar? Not registerfly? yikes!

Did you receive the "request for transfer" email yet?
That's what I'm waiting for from registerfly - but I sent them
quite a "heart felt" email about the changes to my whois :red:
so maybe this is their sick and twisted way of letting me know
as long as they have my domains - their in charge....

What gets me - I'm sure Medina is not the only one running the
company at the moment, so where is the support staff? You'd
think they'd try to HELP so they can pick their faces up out of the mud!
Instead, they are not helping, just creating more problems.

Where's the morals of the staff? Do they enjoy screwing hundreds of customers for him? They know he's stealing DUH everyone knows...
Why aren't they trying to fix anything? and if I'm wrong and he's the
only one behind the mouse ------ find me a big cat!

To set a few things streight about RegFly ICANN is going to let a Registrar
take over the domains and help anyong to transfer them.
Or they can just leave them at the new registrar.
Right now they're going over the Registrars who want to do it..

Any expiring domain has been put on a hold status..
Next week they'll make up their mind as the the Registrar who'll handle them..

Hmmm Where is your source? I'd love to have control over my domains again :|

But unfortunately they are being locked up under someone
else's whois...What happens then? How do they know who's
is who's?
If I never tried to transfer mine I wouldn't have noticed
my whois had been changed to 3 different people in as many days!
Completing the transfer became a race game, could I keep it at my whois
long enough for the transfer request to be initiated...NO! Twice I had to start the transfer...and right in the middle of the transfer regfly changed my whois again!
and now I'm still waiting for it to complete at registerfly's end.....all they have to do is approve it...what's that - one click????

So taking it over is one thing, cleaning up the database on
who's is who's and what is what is going to be a F**king day at the zoo!

ICANN should have taken over immediately they were made aware of this,
instead, giving them time to totally screw up people's time and income it was pretty obvious what was going to happen, and with that many complaints...come on...shut them down!

You can't get your domains from Registerfly. I've gotten about 5 domains from them in the last month and I don't even know how the whole process worked. I'm still missing several other domains and complaining to ICANN hasn't helped.

Sorry to hear that mis_chiff.. I hope to god they arn't good names.. Can you transfer them to another account? Maybe get another registerfly account and try and transfer them over? That might release something.

There arn't many people who would visit GoDaddy in Kalowna.. So you could always drive up LOL.

You can transfer them to another registerfly account but you can't transfer out from there. I ended up creating a new username and transferring all of them to myself (of course) and finally I was able to unlock my domains, and get a couple (and when I say a couple I mean very few) domains out. They will not give the real Authorization code to transfer out which is a problem especially when they have it for every domain (including .com and .net).

Here is the latest from icann ,http://public.icann.org/issues/registerfly/review does not seem to show any International police or FBI links

I am shure that plenty of people might want to contact them as this is a worldwide fraud.
My local police hitech crime unit said they could do nothing.... Good Luck.

Thanks for the link MaxMcool, my transfer has still not been completed.
Godaddy told me the registry will force it over after about 5-7 days if they
have not accepted the transfer on their own - which they still haven't done.
So about a day or 2 left till something happens, I'll post results when I get some. :)

I don't expect you will have any problems.
I have been steadily moving domains over to godaddy over the past month.
No failures just a bit of a wait up to 7 days.

Thanks for letting me know, I was hoping someone else who was doing this was having success at it, glad to know they are being completed.

I tried transferring perhaps 6 domains to no avail. But GoDaddy refunded me in full yestrday so I feel pretty good at them. I might let the domains expire.
