Old Domain I would like to sell

Hi Everyone,

I am new to this forum and would like some advice on selling an old domain I have. My family use to have a retail flooring business that we have shut down a few years back. I'd like to sell the domain now that I have no use for it. It is still registered to me and I have been keeping the payments up to date. In the past I have had a few email requests about buying the domain but I was not interested because the business was still going at the time. Now that the business is no longer around I have little use for the domain name.

What are the steps I should take to sell the domain?

Thanks.

Can you post what the name is you want to sell? Without knowing the name your question is extremely broad.

Are you going to sell it? How much do you want for this domain?

Do you have also .ca domain?

I own both the .com and .ca. If you read the first post I am looking to sell the domain and would like some advice with the process.

you might want to list the domain on sedo.com and afternic.com, or look for a domain broker, who will contact potential end users.

Thanks for the recommendations. Are there any flat fees with listing to these websites and do they charge a hefty fee when the domains are eventually sold?

sedo, godaddy, afternic, snapnames, are the big domain (auction) houses. You should at least do some research on your own before asking these simple questions. Mostly they operate on free to list and take a percentage of the sale.

Change your landing page to either a custom sales page or a redirect to a 'submit your offer' page through one of the domain auction houses. Better yet may be to bring back the old site with a going out of business domain sale notice on the landing page.

There is a thread on this forum an how to find endusers. There are some good tips in there on how to market your domain. If you have contacts from the previous inquiries those are obvious places to start. If not do a google search for home tile and other relevant terms, compile a list of companies that may be interested in your domain. Start sending out emails letting them know that you are selling the company domain. Email them from your company email address instead of a hotmail account.

You'll have to do some work to find the right buyer for your domains.

That's all I have for now.
