While surfing,

I found that many super premium (at least in com) domains are available.. such as 123.gtls etc..

Is there any value for such domains? at least double than regfee? (assuming regfee is $100)

i think he is saying what is the value of 1 word generics in a gtd. Examples like....

Cars.camera
Money.name
Credit.photography

generic keywords with the new extensions.

If this is what you mean then there has been talk about this all over the place. maybe your just trying to start stuff to get your signature rented?!

Not at all for signature.. It's better to head towards topic instead on carrying forward baseless arguments..

My straight question is
what is the value of 1 word generics in a gtd (Not only generic but related to extension) examples..

godaddy.domains
cannon.camera

etc.. (recent topic related sale luxury.estate )

renting a signature, what a shame, thats like renting your family name to me...
people ready to rent anything nowadays for a couple of dollars, even their identity....people are cheaper than domains now... sad

...thanks for pointing that out Nattydomain

Like any tld, they are worth whatever someone is willing to pay for them, but that doesn't mean a generic one word domain name is worth money and your GODADDY example is simply idiotic (the new GTLDs are heavily geared towards looking after trademark owners) and should be avoided like the plague (ie you will most likely loose it and be out of pocket for your troubles)

The problem with the new GTLDs is simple, the public isn't aware of them and there are too many available.

What will be worth money?

If it was that easy, then everyone would be doing it.

Simple nutshell advice, a $50,000 sale is not guaranteed and at the moment you are more likely to encounter $80 offers (ie base registration x 2)...is that worth your registering a domain and renewing it for several years till the public catches up, assuming the extension you elect to register survives (.XYZ is being inflated by freebie registrations, .CLUB has a good chance of survival but finding a decent name is in turn getting harder while .GRIPE may well .FAIL to survive because it has single letters available for around $50 that just are not selling and that has to be a bad sign)

Well, It's none of your business.. O_o Thats my signature place and I can do whatever I want. B-) If you are mentally unable to respond the topic with proper content then It's better to relax instead of posting crap which I usually (or always) throw in dust bin (like this one).. B-)

Thanks for that.. I probably don't (or say never) register trademark domains (it was just an example, leave it).. :)

It's your first post & directly in my thread.. Little bit suspicious..!! O_o

You are putting the cart before the horse. First of all, analyze the market, are there any reported sales taking place on a regular basis ? If not, then why speculate on this or that TLD ?
You know why those names are still available ? It's because the supply > the demand.

Yes, I am aware of that. I am looking for long term investment.. ;)

I wouldn't call that an investment, but gambling. There is too much supply for too little demand.
I say it often, but it's already hard enough to sell good .com...

Long term investment, I think there is value in one word .gtlds. Now, the problem is the premium registrations will make it unprofitable for domainers ( who do not develop the domains ) to maintain the portfolio. You are not going to get type in traffic, and without development you will not get organic traffic either.

For the 30 or so 'new extension' domains that I have registered, I am going to spend the next couple of years developing them properly, and worry about selling them in 5 years. For some of the premium domains that have horrendously expensive annual fees, ( computer.supply is $500 / year, for example ) , I am staying away from those. I suppose I could register it, but I can still get killer domains at a much lower cost ( tablet.supply is $22.99 at dynadot ) , so why worry about the super premium domains? Also, the keyword needs to have relevance. About.Supply does not make sense, Computer.Supply, at least, does.

i'll take "premium unleaded" over any of these > > > "super premium" "quad premium, "triple premium", "double premium or "anti-premium"

:)

Long term? So I assume you plan on holding new TLDS for 5 years plus? Damn you got some deeeeeeeeep pockets! You should just save up and buy 1 really kick ass .com

I do not have a crystal ball but domain investors should not overlook the fact that .Net has been around since 1985 and .TV since 2000. Review recent weekly and YTD DNJ sales report as well as the recent SEDO sales reports. Which TLD still dominates the sales reports? If other TLDs still only get modest interest more than a decade after launch, what will cause massive aftermarket demand to suddenly appear in five years for TLDs that few end users even know about in 2014? Can you afford to renew those new TLDs for a decade or perhaps much longer? Then keep in mind that most domain sales are under $1000 (in today's dollars). So what are the odds of making money with anything less than a megapremium keyword in unknown TLDs with premium renewals?
